Toronto deserves Shahid and Sonam's Mausam

Following a special screening of Mausam for IAF officers in Delhi today, Shahid and Sonam's Mausam is finally ready to hit theatres. The much awaited Shahid - Sonam starrer scheduled to release on September 16 has been pushed ahead by a week to September 23 to ensure simultaneous release worldwide.

The World Premiere of Mausam which was supposed to happen at the Toronto International Film Festival in mere hours today was cancelled last minute due to regulatory delays in India. Infact, September 14 was very much shaping up to be quite the Mausam Day in Toronto for fans and press alike with a screening, press conference, premiere and afterparty all rolled up into one hectic day of promotions.

Shahid, Sonam and Director Pankaj Kapoor addressed the media at a press conference in Bombay earlier today to announce the new September 23 release and approval from IAF. Ram Mirchandani from Eros also told the attending media that Mausam will now be having two premieres - one in London and another in Mumbai.

With the path cleared for the film it would only seem fair if Torontonians got a well due and much deserved share of Shahid and Sonam Kapoor's epic romance.

Call it a case of bad timing or sheer bad luck, Toronto was all set to see the film first before the rest of the world had everything gone accordingly to plan. Given the delayed clearance from IAF and Certificate from the Censor Board it would be sad to see the city miss out on or be left out of experiencing Mausam.

Organizers in Toronto are working overtime to hopefully reschedule and sort the talent's availability to be here and share Mausam with the city.
