Anandi is confused as to whether she is bahu or beti. Unless this confusion is resolved -- all she will do is hang around until she becomes a babysitter for the forthcoming santan of JG -- the parpotha.
So some clarity:
When the singhs asked her to stay -- they said it is because she is their beti. A few cute scenes followed where sumitra called bhairon "anandi ke bapu". Nice 👏.
Then her mother came, and anandi said "you told me that I am the bahu of this house and by God, i will stay here and leave only on my arthi". Nice 👏. I supported that statement too, because I didnt want G to have the satisfaction of having turned A out of the haveli. I wanted anandi to dig her heels in and stay there to show gauri that it was she who was legal maalkin and not gauri.
Then J and G left.
So, now anandi does both -- she claims beti in order to stay in the house (since beendhni status is not hers minus a beendh)... but then we see lots of love for Jagya and abhisheks, and vrats to nibhao the beendhni responsibility.
In Anandi's position, I think I would have understood that the reason sumitra and bhairon told her to stay as their beti was not because they wanted her to stay lifelong in the haveli. They wanted to do the right thing and have her leave the haveli AFTER SHE WAS REHABILITATED... and not just leaving with no education, nothing in her hands, as if she was an abandoned wife.
Even if they said beti -- a beti also has to get married and leave home -- and that is what bhairon meant when he said beti -- that he wanted to get her remarried.
At that time, anandi said no to bhairon and he was taken aback. SHE SAID that she wanted to study further. This was not Bhairon's idea. He was taken aback. But she said that she wants to study and make her own pehchaan.
However, he fully supported that too.
If she did not want to go to another marriage, then she can study and become someone independnet who does not require support of a beendh.
Then all of a sudden, everyone is confused - she has claimed beti status to stay on in her sasural, and she does all rituals of a bahu.
The beti status was a status given out of guilt and moral obligation to right the wrong that happened and was a TEMPORARY status given to her FOR THE PURPOSE OF HER REHABILITATION.
However, now anandi has set up life - long camp in the singh household, which I dont think that even they expected.
I highly doubt that they want adult education classes in their living room for the next twenty years.
They want her to leave -- but not because she is being pushed away from pain that J and G have inflicted on her.
They want her to leave -- but in a good situation where she is being pulled towards happiness -- be that a new marriage or be it an education and a career. They want her to leave on a good note.
