Dubai: Pakistan's prince of pop Ali Zafar believes that things are a "tad bit exaggerated" in Bollywood.

And no, he's not talking about his latest romantic comedy Mere Brother Ki Dulhan(MBKD) — a tale about a guy falling in love with his brother's fiance — which has its premiere in Abu Dhabi tonight.

Near-fatal

He was merely clarifying reports that claimed that the Tere Bin Laden actor had saved scorcher Katrina Kaif from a near-fatal accident after her hair got caught in a fan during the shooting of MBKD.

"It was really a small fan — seriously small. And so I wasn't really this knight who saved her life or anything. It was just sensationalised, but I suppose that's how the industry operates and I get that," Zafar said over the phone from Mumbai ahead of his visit.

However, the musician — who made his debut in last year's sleeper hit Tere Bin Laden — did save Kaif from looking like a complete novice as a guitar-toting rockstar. She plays a UK-bred musician while Zafar plays the suave, perfect, marriage-material bachelor.

Casual

"It was all very casual," he said. "She showed an interest in learning the guitar and I showed her some basics. That was it, really. Both Imran [Khan] and Katrina are such lovely people to work with — no hang-ups whatsoever."

Bollywood's rising star Imran Khan expressed shock and disgust at the terror attack on New Delhi on Wednesday morning. The actor was in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday for the world premiere of his latest film, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan(MBKD).

"I am ashamed and it destroys me to say this but terrorist attacks are a way of life in India. Somewhere, we have begun to accept that: 'Yes, it happens but you have to move on'. It's a very sorry state of affairs," said Khan in an interview withGulf News prior to the press conference. Read news about attack on New Delhi court

Khan was accompanied by his co-stars Katrina Kaif, Ali Zafar and director Ali Abbas Zafar to promote his romantic comedy. He added that it was perfectly understandable if the mood remained grim and if people were not in the mood to watch his romantic comedy.

"You can't worry about your film and whether people are going to watch it, when something like this happens. Our film will continue to be on its way, whoever wants to watch it will watch it anyway. I am sure there will be a large number of people who are in no mood to be entertained and that's natural. Here we are dealing with things of a much larger scale," said Khan.

Though the Delhi Belly actor had heard about the blasts, his colleagues - Pakistani pop icon Zafar and MKBD director Ali Abbas Zafar were shocked when told about the tragedy that claimed more than 11 lives and left more than 50 injured.

"You can't help but feel bad about the barbarism and the trouble it's causing people. I just hope it's figured out soon and [someone] puts an end to the menace," said Zafar. The team had shot their film in Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. He added that his native land Pakistan is also not immune to such occurrences

"In Pakistan, you have something going wrong every day. I just don't have words. There are such few, good positive things happening. I just feel that if I can be just one of those few good things then I am doing my job," he said. This team will be walking the red carpet tonight at Vox in the Marina Mall.
