PoV of Overall Epi: Again, very nicely done...a good mix of everything! 😊 As with yesterday, quick and crisp and neatly handled, and does leave us with enough questions for the week 😆
Points that we liked: Baapji softening on seeing the degree, though that still doesn't make me convinced enough about him. Mohan and Kastur's aankh-micholi is refreshing, quite well done! Mohan-Baa's first meeting was wonderful! I liked how Baa was working on making him comfortable with her talk of movies and how eagerly Mohan was reciprocating. Also liked how you show that it's not as if drinking is just something videshis do -- by having drinks served at the party AND showing Vipul drinking himself, I think it's a nice statement to make that we can't really see his habits per se as non-Indian when many normal Indian guys out there would be a lot like him. Also loved the subtlety of his flirting with Nikita -- it wasn't cheap or leering, Mohan was doing it with finesse, he created hints rather than just make a pass...I liked how well-done it was.
Points that we disliked: Jitu judging Mohan just because he was opting for a simple handshake and speaking in English? Not cool. Did they expect him to stay EXACTLY the same when he went there, honestly? Kastur being shocked I can understand, at this point she's a giddy teenager and does have this dreamworld she doesn't want to get out of, but seriously Jitu being an adult should have definitely known better. It's also inconsistent with the way you've attempted to present Jitu as a foil to Baapji: while he allows for freedom he still maintains that it needs to be as per what he says and thinks, which isn't all that different from Baapji really.
Mention Bloopers: Didn't see any.
Msgs for the lead Actors (Sincere Comments):
HC: Again, wonderful job! Loved how Mohan's reaction to the 'sit in the dukkaan' thing was an expressionless face BUT the anger shown in the way the door was shut. Also loved the flirting scene...especially the meaningful look Mohan kept giving Nikita while talking to her parents.
Aasiya: Very fine portrayal of nervousness and of not knowing how to approach Mohan...also loved BOTH in the aankh micholi scene!
Msgs for the rest of the cast../team/makeup/costume department: Okay, the set turned out much better in the episode than it did in SBS! Plus I loved the costumes given to the leads, Kastur's look was different and suited her. Also THANK YOU for giving your Westernized Indian girls some nice-looking costumes; especially considering the disaster that lady in the first epi was dressed up in 😕 Great dialogues, great ambiance, the actor playing Baapji did a good job of softening, loved Pankit and Jaydutt in their small but engaging scenes today. Supriya did a great job of showing controlled anger.
Suggestions for handling of tracks: Would be new and different if 1. Mohan is shown as having a bit of a soft spot for Kastur in the beginning, and 2. Mohan feels cheated about being 'used' as barter in exchange for education - because the way Baapji fixed that match itself was hardly right in any case.
The confusion regarding how well the Desais and Gallas as families know each other needs to cleared, and pronto. We know that Mohan and Kastur knew each other as children but don't know why that contact wasn't kept. We don't know how Kastur ended up having such a collossal crush on him in the first place and IMO her falling for a picture sounds unreal to me. How much does Mohan and family know the Desais? Or is Bhanu's relation with Jitu only restricted to himself going to Jitu's house rather than the Gallas going there?
