Ashamed of his Lips

Anuj Saxena is one actor who has a knack of creating news. Right from his exit from Kkusum (on Sony) to his turbulent marital life to his recently concluded trip to Cannes — everything has hit the headlines. And the actor-turned-producer has always enjoyed all the due attention. But only this time around, he is shying away from the limelight. And the reason behind this is — his Lips.

Lips —The Kiss of Death is the name of his latest film up for release. The film had been in making for quite some time now. Featuring Anuj and model Mausumi Udeshi, the film directed by Sameer Malkan was stuck with the censor board because of its "high sexual content". Finally, the film has got an A certificate with most of the major sex scenes chopped. Still, the movie has enough heat to be termed as a 'sleazy film'. Now Anuj just wants to forget that he had ever acted in a film like this. "I too have heard that the film has got a censor certificate. So it might be releasing soon," says Anuj dejectedly. "But I have absolutely no clue as to when the film will actually release. You will have to ask the director."

Even though director Sameer Malkan was not available for comment, the trade pundits say that the film has no appeal apart from a few steamy scenes. And if the predictions are anything to go by, the film will pass off completely unnoticed. "Even Anuj would prefer that no one notices the film," comments an industry hand. "Right now, when he is planning to start his own feature film production starting with an A grade movie, he wouldn't want to be associated with such cheap films."

There are reports that Anuj is all set to sign Madhuri Dixit for his first film as producer. "I also heard about the Madhuri Dixit talks," laughs Anuj Saxena without denying the report. "Yes, we are hoping to launch our first film this year itself. At the same time, we are also making documentaries, ad films and television serials. Then there is also my Rs 500 crore pharmaceutical company to look after." And if that's not enough, the young actor-entrepreneur is also shuttling between his two on-air television serials Kumkum on Star Plus and Rishton Ki Dorr on Sony.
