Hi Friends. After watching yesterday's episode and seeing the precap for today I too was thinking in the same way as many of u have been thinking...That Maan is cruel, he is harsh beyond endurance and above all he is totally insensitive to Geet's feelings...saying all sorts of harsh things to her...
I agree he has been doing all the above. But is he solely responsible for his behaviour? After the precap yesterday I too was fuming at him and wanted to make a post criticising his behaviour but now I am glad I got busy and could not do so. The reason is that as I was watching the repeat today one sentence caught my attention...where Maan tells Geet "put urself in my position and see"...don't remember the exact dialogue but it set my thought-process going in full swing...and I realised what was triggering off this atrocious behaviour...
Let us put ourselves in MSK's place and think...
A man like MSK is suffering from partial ML. He remembers his entire family but forgets the person who is most precious to him...his Geet. On gaining consciousness he is told she is some girl who saved his life...etc, etc...and that girl is coveted by all his family members...How should he feel towards her? Any sane and logical person would think she is putting on a goody-goody act to win over his family and of course for MSK of those days all girls are gold-diggers...so he believes the same of Geet...and why should he not? No one told him then that she was his wife.
Why was he left in the dark all the time about his and Geet's relationship? Geet throws herself at him all the time in the hope that he will remember something from his past. She is justified, being his wife and anxious that he remembers her. But what should Maan think of her behaviour? Having no inkling of their relationship he will definitely think she is of a loose character... anyone else in his place would also think the same thing...then why is he wrong in thinking that?
Then suddenly thru NT's intervention the truth of his and Geet's marriage was thrown on him in a way he least expected. He had been unaware of such a relationship and when he suddenly saw the CD in front of all his staff he blew up. Was he wrong in assuming it was done by Geet on purpose? I don't think so. Agreed his words were cruel and insensitive, but MSK has never been a sensitive person remember?
Now we come to the most important part...On Dadi's insistence he brings Geet back home and even lets her stay there, but he still can't accept her as his wife as he can't remember anything. Why is he blamed for this? If we were told to accept someone as a husband (am talking to all girls on the forum), whom we did not know and who had been literally thrust upon us what would be our reaction. Yes I used the word thrust because that's precisely what has happened. Not only Maan's whole family but also his friends, the staff and even the servants accept Geet as his wife and are literally forcing him to do the same. Would a man like MSK, who would never do anything he did not want to do bow down to such coercion and accept her as his wife in every way of the term? We will get the answer if we put ourselves in his place and think logically.
When I considered all the above I realised that we should not be blaming Maan for his insensitivity. Had he been told from the beginning that Geet was his wife then things could have been very different. Also his family should try and understand his inner turmoil. All are consoling Geet only all the time but no one is even going upto him and asking him about his inner turmoil. The least Dadi and/or Dev could do is to talk to him and ask him why he is being so harsh and insensitive to Geet's feelings. More so I think Dadi could have done it. he loves and respects her the most. According to me if MSK is to be blamed for being insensitive to Geet's feelings then the others should also be blamed for being insensitive to Maan's feelings and for leaving him all alone to face his inner turmoil. At least Geet has full support from all but poor Maan has to fight his feelings all alone.
Sorry friends if I have upset Geet supporters but for me there has always been MANEET, and never Maan or Geet alone.
