Kareena Kapoor's alleged Rs8 crore fee irks film fraternity


Actors and their fees have always been a hot topic of discussion in the film fraternity. Actress Kareena Kapoor became top contender for the numero uno spot when news broke that she was reportedly being paid Rs8 crore for Madhur Bhandarkar's Herione.

Though she was the original choice, she couldn't do it due to date issues. Now that the film is back with Bebo, she has apparently demanded a huge sum of money. And the industry is not amused.

A discontented starlet says, "This must be a rumour. Only the top heroes get paid so much." The trade too seems disbelieving. A veteran producer says, "It is impossible for actors to get paid that kind of money. Even Aishwarya who was earlier doing the film wasn't paid that much. Besides, these days actors are also a part of the revenue sharing model so it is practically impossible."

A trade analyst dismisses it as a publicity stunt: "This is all done to give the film some much needed publicity. Controversies because of Ash's pregnancy have already given the film the required attention and this clearly looks like another attempt at that."

Till date, Ash has reportedly been the highest paid actor to have received between Rs5 to 6 crore for the bilingual film, Robot. If indeed Kareena is being paid Rs8 crore, it will certainly be setting a new precedent for heroines' fees, which are nowhere near what top heroes get paid.

Shouldn't she be happy about a top heroine being paid a huge amount. She is an actress herself will use to be and she should know how hard it is for actresses to get out of the actors shadows...but she doesn't sound happy.

Wait i thought she wasnt getting 8 crore but shes part of the profit sharing model so it'll round up to it . Still these ppl should be happy thrs less gap btwn actors and actresses pay ...this way more actresses in the future can get paid more as well.

But it says she use to be an actress. So it must be someone old or an actress like Amisha Patel lol. I understand u can only be happy for yourself but if an actress demands a high amount and filmi ppl are saying it's impossible for actresses to get paid that amount...wouldn't be cool if an actress proves these ppl wrong. Women Power u know. And I thought as much hits as Kat gets...she should demand high amounts of money too. She should get paid as much as the actors.

what's up with the bias on payments for heroines?
Especially cause this movie's title is Heroine. Just cause they're actresses they should get paid less?😕. Bollywood seriously needs to start paying more attention and money to heroines.

bollywood is so sexist!! top actors get paid 30-50 crore but when an actress gets 8 crore they say its impossible to get paid that amount and protest! W*F!

im so glad Sonam calls bollywood a sexist industry in every interview! i think all actresses should!

kareena and kat are more bankable than Akki (even though i love him) but he gets paid way way more! even new actors like Imran and Ranbir make more than top actress like Kareena, Kat and PC... why?
