| VISHAL SINGH Vishal Singh plays the role of Jigar Modi in the daily soap Saath Nibhana Saathiya Janmashtami is a very special festival for me as I was born on this day.I share the same nakshatra as Krishna bhagwan and celebrate my half birthday on Janmashtami day.I am from Bathinda,Punjab.During Janmashtami,all the temples in Bathinda are decorated with flowers and lights.I have lots of fond memories of Janmashtami from my childhood;one of them is an incident that happened when I was in the sixth standard.In one of the temples,I was playing the role of Krishna and was dressed in a dhoti and ornaments all over my body.Another girl who was playing the part of Radha was standing besides me.Around midnight,I was already irritated with the clothes and ornaments and the girl further annoyed me by throwing flowers on me.I warned her thrice and then finally beat her on her knees with my flute,after which,she threw a tantrum. This year,my parents are in Mumbai and we plan to visit the Hare Rama Hare Krishna Temple on Janmashtami day. As told to Anuradha Ramamirtham Janmashtami falls on August 22 |
