Hey all...back with another OS...the title is sorta odd but i couldn't think of anything 😆

Everything was set to go. The car was loaded with their luggage, all his pending and upcoming work had been finished or postponed and he was ready for vacation. Maan Singh Khurana who had been a strict work alcoholic barely being able to find minutes for his family two years ago was now itching to get his vacation started. It was all thanks to his wife Geet Singh Khurana.

Maan and his father Ranjeet Khurana had gone for a business deal to London where they had the pleasure of meeting Mohinder Handa and his daughter Geet Handa. Both the Handas and Khuranas were trying to get the contract to build a lavish club in London. Though the Handas had gotten the contract, Ranjeet Khurana was quite taken by the simple grace and beauty of Geet Handa. A girl born and brought up in England but carried all the values of India in her heart. One lost deal led to what became Maan Singh Khurana's priceless possession: Geet. Mohinder Handa wouldn't have been happier to give his daughter away to such a respected and known family. They were engaged a few months after Ranjeet had asked for the proposal. In the six months that Maan and Geet had been engaged, friendship developed that unknowingly blossomed into deep love. Geet changed Maan as a person teaching him how to live life and to enjoy the happiness that it brings. Now that Maan wanted to enjoy life with his wife, he barely found time with business and everyone else in the house. That's why he had arranged this little getaway for them.

Maan impatiently glanced at his watch and then at the door wondering what was taking Geet so long to say her goodbyes. There were literally four people in that house: Mom, Dad, Dev and Dadi Ma. He had been waiting outside for almost fifteen minutes. Just then, it was as if his prayers were answered; the whole troop was making their way outside and the most important person Geet was with them. Maan smiled a small smile as he waited for them to get to the car.

"Okay, you two enjoy yourselves and have fun.", Dadi Ma said as she touched both Maan and Geet's cheek. Geet nodded and they bent to take her blessings and she patted their heads lovingly. Giving their final goodbyes and hugs, Maan and Geet were their way to their 'little getaway'.

"So Maan, are you finally going to tell me where we are going?", Geet asked as they drove along the roads of Delhi.

Maan just shook his head with a smile and looked straight at the road.

'Maan!!", she whined "Fine, don't tell me.", she said and then looked outside her window in anger.

Maan couldn't help but smile at her childish antics. He reached out to hold one of her hands but she shook it away in anger still looking down from her window. Not ready to give up, he grabbed hold of her hand again tightly this time and pulled her in his direction. She collided gently against his chest with her head on his shoulder. She looked at him shyly as a blush touched her cheeks. He kept a firm hand on the wheel while he used the other to move her hair out of her face that had came forward when she landed against his chest. He then ran the along her jaw making his way to her shoulder and then skimming it down her back before wrapping it firmly around her waist. He of course managed all of this while looking straight at the road while Geet was hyperventilating with his touch.

"Maan, please let me go.", she quietly requested. "What will people say ?", she asked as she tried to remove his hand from her waist but he wouldn't give in.

"That's why we are going somewhere people won't see us", he whispered with a mischievous glint in his eyes. He took a turn where the road turned into a one-lane road surrounded by trees and other greenery. The area was isolated keeping it quiet and peaceful precisely the reason Maan had chosen it. He released his hold on her waist so she could look out the window at the scenery.

She smiled warmly as she rolled down her window fully and let the breeze play with her tresses. Maan smiled at her simple beauty as he watched her from the corner of his eye. This was what he liked about his Geet: the smallest things brought a smile on her face.

She then turned to him, "Maan, are we going camping in the jungle?", she asked with fearful eyes. "I know you like isolating yourself from the world but me; poor me is human and needs people to live", she said with the most innocent expression.

Maan chuckled as he held her hand and ran soothing circles with his thumb, "Don't worry sweetheart. The wild animals wouldn't be able to handle my sherni.", he teased and watched her eyes turn into spit fire.

"Did you, Did you just call me a sherni", she questioned with a glare.

"I did, but baby I placed emphasis on 'my'. You are only my sherni.", he said and her anger quickly dissolved into shy blush.

Just suddenly, thunder roared in the sky and it started to pour heavily.

"What, rain?", Maan said with a groan and turned his wipers on full speed as he continued to drive. "It wasn't even suppose to rain this week, I checked the forecast.", he complained looking angrily at the sky.

"Maan, stop the car", Geet yelled.

Maan slammed the brakes pulling the car to the side. "What happened Geet?", he asked with worry laced his voice and eyes. Without a word, Geet got out of the car and ran to the deserted road. She held her hands out catching the rain in her hands as she twirled around with a grin on her face.

Maan rolled down his window, "Geet, what are you doing? You will get sick, get back in the car now.", he called out but she paid no heed as she continued to dance.

Maan breathed out an exasperated sigh and exited the car to pull Geet back in. In a matter of seconds, his white shirt was soaked through clearly showing his muscled body. As he walked towards her, he got mesmerized with her beauty as rain soaked through her red chiffon saree clinging to her curves as second skin. The transparent cloth grew even more see through with the wetness of her rain exposing her skin. Maan silently thanked the lords that the road was deserted and no one could see his Geet.

Maan walked up to her in a daze of her unflawed beauty placing a hand on her shoulder, "Come on Geet, you will catch a cold.", he said taking a hold of her hand to walk back to the car.

She stopped him with a tug on his hand causing him to turn around to look at her. She freed her hand and close the distance between them barely leaving inches before their wet bodies would touch. She leaned in to touch her lips to his earlobe whispering softly, "Can I have this dance, Mr. Khurana?"

Maan was dumbfounded, his usual shy and blushing was in a different avatar today. He was pleasantly surprised at that. They had been married just about a year and he was still in the process of discovering ins and outs of Geet.

"But there is no music.", he whispered back but one of his hands found it's way to her bare waist.

"Yes there is". She gently took his other hand on rest it on her heart and placed her own hand over his heart. "Our heartbeats, both rapid yet moving at it's own pace.", she whispered with her soft lips and Maan fought the urge to capture her lips with his.

She placed her hand in his and rested one on his shoulder. Holding her body close to his as one hand lay on top on her curvy waist, he began to sway their bodies right and left slowly. She looked at him with a smile and her eyes shone with the happiness of fulfilling her wish. A few moments later, she changed their posture by wrapping her arms his waist and dropping her head against his chest listening to his now slow and steady heartbeat as they continued to sway slowly. He closed his eyes with a peaceful sigh as he held his wife close to his heart letting the rain wash all over them.

"Thank you", he bent his head to whisper softly. She lifted her head and raised her questioning gaze to look at him.

'Thank you for?"

"Thank you for letting me see the beauty the rain actually brings. I was a man who used to hate the rain. I thought the monsoon interpreted and disturbed my life as it flooded the streets but now, I am beginning to think that rain was one of the beautiful gifts of nature."

"In that case, you are very welcome Mr.Khurana.", she said with a laugh taking his hand to walk back to the car.

Once back in the car, they started driving as they held hands. Geet playfully shook her wet hair to splash water droplets on Maan's face. Out of nowhere, Geet let out a loud sneeze. Looking in his direction, she saw his expression that classified as a mixture of anger and worry.

"Geet, I told you, the rain will make you sick.", he scolded. He handed her a tissue as she scrunched her nose feeling another sneeze coming. And achoo, it came again and Geet threw her nose in the tissue blowing loudly.

"Maan, it's okay, you are getting, achoo,", she stopped as another sneeze came on "worried for nothing.", she finished off wiping her nose once again.

"I can see that, I am getting worried for nothing.", he said with a disapproving look. "Good thing we are almost there."

Knowing there were no places to make any pit stops along the way for tea, Maan knew he had to drive to their destination to take care of Geet's achoo. Driving along for another fifteen minutes, Maan finally stopped the car.

"Maan, what is this?", Geet asked as he parked the car.

"This my dear darling is our 'little getaway', a cottage by the lake away from the city and people."

"It's really pretty", she said looking out the window and then sneezed again. Their cottage was the only one in sight and knowing Maan Singh Khurana, he had brought it just for that reason.

"But you won't be able to enjoy it if you are sick. Come one, let's go in and you can explore later.", he said grabbing his jacket from the backseat and wrapping it tightly around her shoulders. Getting out and coming to her side, he tried to shield her against his chest as he rushed her in.

Not giving her a chance to look around, he picked her up in his arms carrying her upstairs before she could protest. Geet silently went along with it knowing he was worried for her. Gently placing her on the bed in their bedroom, Maan opened up their already setup closet to pull out a towel.

Geet went through series of sneezes and her nose grew red from blowing. Standing with her head against his chest, he vigorously began to rub her hair with the towel. She watched silently as his forehead furrowed with worry.

She reached up to still his hands as he held it, "Maan, don't worry. I really am okay.", she reassured but then it all got destroyed as she sneezed again.

"Clearly", he stated and started drying her hair again. "Okay Geet, go take a hot shower while I make tea for you.", he instructed. "And don't even think about wiggling out of it.", he said seriously as he saw the protest in her eyes. "Go", he nudged her towards the bathroom door.

About fifteen minutes later, she came downstairs in white kurta of Maan's just went below her knees. Maan couldn't stop his eyes from staring as he looked at up and down. Keeping a firm rein on his desires, he merely smiled at her as he handed her a cup of steaming tea just the way she liked it with half a teaspoon of brown sugar and very little milk.

"Thank you", She accepted the cup wrapping her hands around it for the warmth. He came from behind wrapping his arms her waist gently.

"How are you feeling now?", he asked placing his chin on her shoulder checking her forehead with his hand which was thankfully cool.

"Much better". She placed her cup on the counter without stepping away from him. "Especially now", she said with a smile as she held his hands that were wrapped around her waist.

She was about to lean in to kiss him when her eyes fell on the image outside.

"Maan, look. A rainbow.", she said with a playful laugh dragging him outside.

"But Geet, you are still sick.", she said stopping her excitement.

"Come on baby, the rain stopped already and plus your tea and most importantly your warmth worked it's magic.', she said gliding her hands up his chest which just consisted of his infamous black vest before she locked them around his neck. "Please baby", she whispered close to his lips and then ended the distance all together as she touched her lips with his kissing him slowly and gently savoring every moment of it. Maan brought her closer as he placed his hand on her hipbone. A few moments, they broke off and rested their foreheads against each other.

"I thought you wanted to see the rainbow.", Maan said with a chiuckle.

"Oh ya", she said as she remembered. She held his hand as they went out through the back door of the cottage that faced the lake. "What I am suppose to do when you distract me like that Mr.Khurana?", she asked innocently.

Maan couldn't the laugh that came with her question, "I distract you?"

"of course", she said and giggled as she wrapped a arm around his waist rested her head on his shoulder. "It's beautiful, isn't it?', she asked softly.

"Hmm, it is", he agreed "But I know someone who is more beautiful."

"Really ,who?", she asked.

"You", he said simply kissing her forehead. "You have taught me to enjoy the small joys of life in order to live a happy life.", he said with love in his eyes.

The earlier chill of the rain was now gone replaced with a warm breeze that gently brew around them They stood in peaceful silence with their arms around each other as they watched the beautiful rainbow that had come after the rain; a small joy of life.
