What I don't understand is why does Geet need a reincarnation track to be in line with star desh but not pkyek ?? Has anybody pondered about that

4 Lions rubbished the rumour about reincarnation and I think its highly unlikely that it will happen.

We need to think carefully about the perspective of the PH and the channel. From what I see, most people on the forum are basically against reincarnation but are willing to support it only to be able to see more Maan and Geet. But these are all die-hard fans who will watch the show no matter what. Unfortunately, a rather small minority.

What about all the other people, the ones who watch the show just for entertainment and not because they are really invested, the ones who stop watching when things get illogical or the story is not strong. If the semi-logical Amritsar and Rohtak tracks could not hold up TRPs then will they really be able to sustain the show after a violent and illogical twist such as killing the two leads whom we have come to love? It would go against everything the show has stood for so far and would lose, I think, much of the limited viewership it has now.

I have a feeling the CVs and PH know this. They would not only lose a huge chunk of their fanbase but also not everybody believes in reincarnation in the first place, so wouldn't that effect some peoples' viewership of the show? The show has always been written with great artistic integrity. Sometimes the storylines have worked and sometimes they haven't but the CV's have never compromised the basic quality of the show, that is to show that true love, wonderful romance, the victory of good values over petty greed and mindless tradition and ultimately, happy endings.

So while I am all for making an effort to make sure Geet stays on air, I don't think we should encourage baseless rumours just out of desperation to see the show going. We should express what we really feel. For me that is, there is so much more of Maan and Geet in THIS lifetime that I want to see that I would be crushed if they died any time soon. It would literally kill the show for me.

This is just my opinion. I don't mean to be negative, in fact I think this fatalistic acceptance of a possibility that is less than ideal is the negative view on things. I hope to see much more Maan and Geet and for the show to end a long time from now with hints of their bright future!
