At the birthday party venue, Sonakshi's friends, girls and their boy friends, having gathered around one another, are chirping a lot about their high society friend, Sonakshi and are waiting for her arrival. The cake is set on the center table, and now they see their famous friend walking down the stairs, in a gorgeous black dress, and are over joyed, with high expectations of having a good time, at her expense. They want to know when her handsome fiance will arrive. She tells them, she expects him shortly.
Daksh is driving to the venue, with Naina, and as he parks the car, she once again expresses her apprehension. However, he tells her, that if she does not come up, then they both will turn the car back, and go home. She yields to Daksh, and they take the bouquet of flowers and go up. Sonakshi with great anticipation. goes to meet him, hugs him, and gives him a kiss on his cheek, and waits for him to wish her. Reluctantly, Daksh in a dry voice, mumbles the wish, and looks very uncomfortable. Sonakshi looks at Naina, and lets out her barbs, judging from what she says, it looks that Rohini's tutoring and falsehood has taken effect, and Daksh and Naina can not understand from where her antagonism has come. Yet, Naina wishes her but does not get any response from the birthday girl.
Sonakshi drags Daksh to the cutting of the cake, and as she blows off the candles, you hear a rendition of "Happy Birthday" sung by the high society girls, obviously unaware that their singing sounds false, but this is to be expected in this city, of the Nouveau riche. She feeds a piece of cake into Daksh's mouth, and expects him, to do the same, but after making her wait for a while, he does what is expected of him. Sonakshi takes pieces to feed her friends, clasped between her thumb and forefinger, and walks past Naina, and shoves it in the mouth of her first friend, who contorts her head to get to the piece. This feeding of the guests continues according to the trend of the 'high society' popularized by local television. Sonakshi tries to introduce her friends to Daksh, while he stands there indifferent. He tells her that he has something to tell her but her friend says that he has whole life ahead to talk to her, and Sonakshi insists on her own way and takes him aside.
The scene shifts to the house, and Kaka Shridar grumbles and sees Akruti coming in and shouts at her, and tells her that he does not want to see her face, and accuses her and does not want her to call him father. He lets off his steam. As she turns off to go she sees her mother, and the mother begins to defend her daughter, and gives her reasons, but the husband is so heated up, he has no time to listen to her. She tells him that everyone can make mistakes, and tells how he had done the biggest mistake, and have not admitted it to her, but they have suffered on account of it. Kaka is silent. He has no reply, and he walks off, and the mother consoles Akruti.
Back at Sonakshi's party, Naina is sitting alone by herself. One of the friends, tries to make conversation with her, and says that he has seen her somewhere. He offers a drink, which Naina refuses. He tries to become romantic and Sonakshi comes to tease him. She tells him that Naina is single, and she will introduce her to him. Daksh comes to Sonakshi to speak to her, and Sonakshi calls Naina to request her to attend to the catering. When the guests want to know who Naina is, Daksh tells them that Naina has come with him, and tells them that she is his friend. They say, she is very lucky.
Shyamal tries to talk to Akruti, about the problem, and consoles her and expresses her love for her. In another room, the mother gives milk to Rohini, who tells her that Sonakshi wanted to spend some time with Daksh, and it was not to right to send Naina with Daksh. When the mother shows surprise at her behavior, Rohini tries to explain, that she is related to Daksh, and Naina is an outsider, and that she is too close to him. Daksh is engaged, and it is not good for an outsider to be so familiar. She says, that Sonakshi may doubt about their relationship. Her mother snubs her, and tries to tell her that she has to get these weird ideas out of head, that she is doubting about her and she tells her angrily, that she does not want to listen anything, but Rohini persists with her own idea, and irritates her mother, and she gloats on her own position.
Another girl friend comes to Sonakshi to find out what case she has taken up. The green shirt boy tries to find out about Naina and she tells him that she is a wedding planner; the other girls speak of Akruti, and try to gossip about the affair. Sonakshi argues in favor of Akruti, and explains about her to her friend but they say that they are thinking about the child, and Sonakshi says, that the society may say about the child child that it is illegitimate. She hints at Naina, who stares right in her eyes, and pointedly speaks and Naina gives her a curt reply, and Sonakshi comes out and tells them that Naina was abandoned, by her mother. She says, Naina does not bother and is ready to enjoy the party. Later she apologizes to Naina, and Naina tells her that there is no use of crying over the past.
Daksh tells Naina, that Sonakshi was trying to put her down. Daksh does not accept the explanation of Naina, and he wants to take her away. Sonakshi tries to send Naina to the catering corner, to arrange the menu, and then Daksh gets an opportunity to see her alone, and takes her aside to tell her the thing that is burdening his mind. but she wants him to dance with her, and Daksh loses his chance to speak to her.
In the house Rohini starts her roller coaster innuendos with Sanket, and goes on grinding the wheel of her animosity, and the husband does not want her to continue, and she says, that she does not want to get in the way of Sonakshi, and he hits hard with his strong words, and tells her to keep quiet and go to sleep.
Naina tells at the food counter that they should label the food items, and the green shirt guy tells that he is the catering manager. He tries to befriend her. The guy starts to pin himself on Naina and she rebuffs him. Naina tells the waiter to serve the food.
Daksh wants to speak to Sonakshi, but she wants to dance, and he goes to find out where she has gone. He comes to the catering area, and there the caterer is trying to take advantage of her, and he is holding her hand, and she tells him to leave her. She calls him stupid, and he is drunk. The guy wants to make himself important, and Naina asks him to leave her alone, and when he insists of dancing with her, she slaps him on his cheek. All are stunned, and she tells him, that he does not understand. When he is threatening her, Daksh comes to Naina's defense, and tells him to speak to him, and he tries to hit him. Sonakshi comes to ask what he is doing and starts to let off her pent up steam, and she shouts at Naina, and why she could not dance with her friend, and accuses Naina. She says her plan is to dance with Daksh. This ends up the dreams of Sonakshi. Daksh has been trying to tell her in so many ways, again and again, to save the embarrassment for her, but she has been very stupidly avoiding any chance for Daksh to speak to her. The matters come to a head, when he has to explain why he takes Naina's side. Sonakshi goes on speaking and repeats all the accusations which Rohini has put in her mind, and she wants Naina to leave Daksh, and she points that Abhi dropped marrying her because of her illegitimate relationship with Daksh, and then Sonakshi hears the bomb shell. Daksh tells her, "You want to know why, then hear. I love Naina, and we can not live without each other, and I wanted to tell you, but you did not allow me to tell you, and I can not marry you, as I love Naina. This is our relationship." Sonakshi is dumbfounded, and has no reply, She goes to her room and one by one her friends leave the place, leaving Daksh and Naina alone.

She tells him, that she is in a shock, and that he should explain to her, Daksh goes to Sonakshi and says he is sorry, it should not have happened like this, and she opens the door and looks at him, and starts asking why he made the engagement with him. He tries to explain to her, the sequence of events, and tries his best, and it was not his intention. Naina too is there, and Daksh
says, that she did not have any hand in it. It was all his fault and asks her to forgive him. He wanted to tell her, but not on her birthday. She says, that she has nothing to say to him, and asks him to leave her alone. She firmly tells him to go away.
In the pre cap, Sonakshi, at the Patwardan home, complains to Vibha who promises Sonakshi with her over anxious behavior trying to pacify a spoilt child - back to square one from the lawyer mode - that her Daksh's wedding will be only with her. She wipes her tears from her wet cheeks. Daksh should have told his mother, what exactly his feelings were, but it was an idea, he and Naina had, to prevent further hurt on their family after Akruti's affair. that he hid this truth from her. What would be its consequences, let us wait and see.
