Part 40


Vedant rushed out to pick up Diya

He stopped in front of Diyas house

And smiled as he saw her

She was wearing a black knee length dress

And had her hair up with a single clip

Even without any make-up and jewellery,

She looked beautiful!!!

V: Hey!!

D: Hi!

Vedant noticed the files in her hands

V: What're they for?

Diya raised her eyebrow…

D: The Puna project…the reason why we're going for dinner…

V: Oh…oh yeah!! Umm…shall we go?

Diya sat in the car

A few minutes later

They were seated in a lavish restaurant

Vedant gave the order

And Diya immediately started with the project

As she talked about her plans to re-build the factory

Vedant silently watched her

With a dazed smile on his face

Many times Diya looked up to see

Vedant staring at her

She would immediately look back down

And continue talking

Diya was relieved when the food came

And Vedant's concentration switched

From her to the food

At first neither of them spoke

Then Vedant started asking her questions

About her hobbies etc.

As they talked more and more,

Both of them were surprised

About how much they had in common!

Then Vedant asked about her family

Diya's face become pale

Part 41

she spoke slowly

Unsure of what Vedant would think

D: well…the only family I have is my sister…she…

Diya stopped as tears welled up in her eyes

Vedant was concerned

V: Hey…are you okay?

Diya suddenly stood up…

D: Can…can you drop me home please?

V: But…

D: please!!

Vedant looked at her for a second

Then paid the bill

As Diya sat in the car outside

Vedant got in the car

And noticed that Diya had been crying

He didn't ask any questions and started the car

They didn't talk on their way to her house

Vedant kept his concentration on the road

While Diya looked out the window

With a sad look on her face

Finally they stopped in front of her house

Diya got out the car

And started walking towards her house

Halfway there she stopped

And turned around

D: Thanks…

They both smiled at each other

For the next couple of days

Vedant and Diya met a lot of times

They became really close

And realised that they had a lot in common

Then it was time for DK and Disha to get back

They were at the airport

And Disha was looking out the window

DK noticed her glum expression

He put his arm round her

DK: Disha…what's wrong?

D: I don't feel like leaving

DK: Neither do I Disha…but Kanaka…

Disha sighed

D: I know DK…but that one week was good!

DK: I know…but I promise we'll come back another time! Ok?

Disha smiled

And DK kissed her forehead

DK: Come on…

They both went to board the plane

Mumbai…

Vedant was pacing the living room

Obviously he was nervous

Anjali came in with some chocolate

She raised her eyebrow when she saw him

A: Bhaiyya…are you planning to enter the marathon?

V: Anju…Brother and bhabhs are coming back today…

A: I know…and?

V: And…well…umm…

A: sorry bhaiyya…but I didn't take a foreign language…so could you speak English?

Vedant gave her a look

A: Ok, Ok, sorry!! What did you wanna tell me?

V: Anju…I proposed to Diya!!!

Anjali jumped up

A: What?!!! When?!! How come you didn't tell me before?!! OMG…This is so cool!!! Another bhabhs!! Can I have your credit card for shopping!!!

V: I proposed last night, and she said yes!! But you can't have my credit card…and what am I gonna say to brother?

Anjali sat down on the sofa sulking

A: When bhaiyya got married…he gave me his!! So why can't I have yours?

Vedant was confused

V: Anju…what?!!

He shook his head

V: Anyway…look…how am I meant to tell brother and bhabhs…what if they don't like her…

A: Relax!! Bhaiyya and bhabhi will definitely like your choice!!

Vedant was still worried

V: I hope so…
