Partly agree.. but its stupid for smart people with MBAs to expect a rural janta.. without exclusive sensibilities to appreciate IMV.. the urbane metropolis youth will.. and even in that a section (read young girls) will always go for rom-coms.. the whole deal abt strategizing is.. first chalking out who you are catering to.. aka target audience
one stark feature is MB has brought the MEN back in front of tv.. heck my dad scans thro it.. someone who has NOT seen anything but news as far as I remember.. the show started with its deep business flavor.. obv the task was cut out.. the makers were clear who they were targeting.. so what has changed now.. they overestimated their target.. so they wanna just play blame game.. and resort to extreme strategies at the cost of losing the USP of MB.. why shld I watch MB if it were any other show with traingles and domestic politics..
and its not like MB gathers the least TRPs for Colors.. Saas leela show has half or less of MBs figures.. in spite of running for lesser time.. so why the excessive need to be harsh on MB.. oh wait coz it DARED TO BE DIFFERENT..
If MBs sensibilities bow down to the Ekta Kapoors and the other cliches.. it will only re-inforce that there is no room for ppl like us with sensibilities to remotely find entertainment on tv.. Had MB been made in the 90s it wld be a huge success.. coz back then TV was in selected few homes.. and cultured/ educated (educated is an abused term now.. still using it) ppl watched it.. and the shows catered to that class.. but just coz the audience is wide now.. doesn't mean the once upon a time only audience are made into a minority and not even taken into a consideration.. what a sad state of affairs..
