Akruti has been sleeping in her bedroom, where her father walks in with a full jerry can, filled with kerosene oil, and starts pouring it around her bread, and as he is almost come a full circle, Akruti wakes up, and realizes that her father wants to set her on fire, and screams, asking him, what he is planning to do. The man, filled with anger and rage, is out of control, and forces her down, and wants to set the match on fire, and drops all the match sticks on the floor, and Akruti tries to rush out, screaming for her mother and aunt and all the other in the house, to come to her help. The father holds her down, and slaps her again and again, and tells her that she is getting her right deserts. Hearing the screams, the mother and the aunt rush upstairs, and find the door locked, and hear Sridhar shouting at his daughter. Soon, the other male members with Naina too reach to spot, and all try to tell the uncle to stop, but he yells that he knows what he is doing, and to leave him alone. As he is about to strike the match, Sanket and Daksh break open the door, and stop the uncle, and the women, take Akruti out, and give her some cold water to drink. Later, they try to reason out
with Sridhar, but he walks away.
In Joshi residence, the father, is unhappy at the decision of his daughter, and tells her that it is interfering in their home affairs. He accuses Akruti as an irresponsible girl, who got pregnant before getting married, and his wife listens. Apparently, he had not known about his wife's past, and the way Sonakshi speaks, about getting justice to Akruti, the mother feels that she is doing the right thing. The father taunts her for her opinion, and looks down at her. He tells Sonakshi that he does not like the idea that his daughter is marrying into this household. She retorts, that Daksh is not at fault, and she underscores her point by telling him, that it is not that she cares for the 'stupid' girl, but since Daksh loves his cousin so much, she will have a leverage on him, if she were to defend his cousin, and adds, if she succeeds, the whole world will acclaim her and if she loses, there is no harm, as she will have Daksh in her palms. The father looks at her half doubting his own sanity.
In the house, Vibha tells Shyamal, that it is good that a case is brought against the boy, and it will be a good lesson for him. But Shyamal has no faith in the court, and so she walks away. Daksh comes in and tells them, that he was not certain so far, but after seeing his uncle, now he is determined, that the court is the best option. Naina is in her room, pondering on the events that have taken place. Daksh comes to meet her and they discuss, and she tells him, that he need not worry. Daksh says sorry to her, and she asks for what. Daksh tells her that it was because of her Akruti was able to stand on her own legs, and gained self confidence, but made a mistake of her life. He tells her that they should inform his parents about them, and she tells him, that the time is not suitable, as they are all affected by Akruti, and they will be hurt, when they hear, he is breaking his engagement with Sonakshi. She tells him, that he should tell Sonakshi, as she has a right to know it, and if she is not told now, she will construe, that the truth was hidden from her, to make use of her, to fight the case of Sonakshi. Daksh says, it is getting late, and wishes her good night and goes away from her room.
A court officer, rings the bell of Ayush's house, and he opens the door. He asks him, if he is Ayush, and on getting an affirmative reply, tells him, that he has a court summons, and presents a brown envelope to him, and goes away. Ayush opens the envelope, and reads that it is about Akruti, and he vows to fight back.
At the Patwardhan house, Sonakshi has come, to brief them about her plans for the court case. Her demeanor is giving the impression of self confidence. Rohini wants to be sure, that she is capable of fighting this case, and she assures her that she is
indeed sure of herself. Daksh brings two law volumes for Sonakshi and tells her to go through them as they may be of help to her. As the budding lawyer makes an impressive peroration, about what she will do, and assures the members of the house, of her ability, and makes a grand stand, of how she will teach Ayush a lesson, the gentleman comes in with his brown envelope flaunting it in front of him, and challenges them, and then, Daksh tries to pack him off, but Sonakshi takes up his gauntlet, and tells him, that it is she who will fight the case, and if he has anything to say, she will listen. In the heat of the argument, all the rest of the members of the house, come in, and Ayush seeing it is better to get out now, rather than make a show, taunts Akruti saying that it was her fault. That she has no guts, and then Akruti stands up and challenges him, and says, that she has that much sense to admit her mistake, but he does not have the guts to admit tht he is the father of the child. At that, he raises his hand to hit Akruti, and Daksh stops him, by holding his forearm, and sends him from the house.
In the pre-cap, Daksh holds Naina's hand and very warmly thanks her for her help, as Sonakshi looks at them with screwed up eyes, and full of insecurity.
