She just smiled and he missed that look that she always gave on such moments, he shrugged and guided her in, the table was all arranged for two, but she did not notice, he went to the kitchen to heat the meal and she went to the washroom.

It was the most boring meal he had ever had with her, she did not even once commented, not even when she had a burnt croissant in her plate, he was cursing himself for what he did, after lunch she cleaned the table and went to do the dishes, as she was cleaning he stood there wiping after they were done she was going out when he pulled her, she gave him a sad smile and he hugged her, they stood there for long and then he lifted her and settled her on the couch

M: I am sorry

G (surprised): for what? This lunch?

M: no

G: then

M: actually, Lily is not taking a week's leave, it is me who is going out for a week

G: Pardon

M: Geet'. (He rubbed his temples)' actually I am going to London for a week

G: WHAT?

M: with Bade Papa

G: and when was I to be told, or were you planning to leave without telling me, and since when did you had this program

M: day before yesterday, when Lily told you she will not come next week

G: Lily knows about the trip

M: no

G: then how come she is not coming next week and you too are leaving the same day

M: its no coincidence I just told her that if she wants she can take a next week off, I was about to tell you, but then Lily told me that you too wanted leave, then

G: THEN' continue I am listening, (she pushed him from the couch and stood up with her hands resting on her waist)

M: I though that I will tease you and

G: AND, Mr. Khurana, on one hand you are leaving for London, that far and that too for the whole week and over it you are making a joke of the situation

M: Geet, please, sweet heart I am sorry

G: you better be (she folded her arms and turned back)

M: Geet please look at me, honey I am sorry

G: I will not talk to you

M: please don't do this to me

G (made a face and sat down and switched the TV set on)

M: Geet, please

She did not respond

M: Geet, PLEASE

She ignored him and went to the kitchen and made two coffees, he followed her begging she remained aloof and handed him a cup and went back to see TV

M: OK, don't talk

They quietly finished their coffees, after that he tried his final weapon

M: seeing to the present transport conditions, it is possible that the plane crashes and you know its 99% time fatal

G: MAAN! shut up

And she hugged him, he held her tight

M: nothing will happen Geet, but please talk only the thought of not listening to your voice for so many days is making me sad

G: won't you call me up

M: OK every evening at 8 pm IST

G: I'll wait, promise

M: promise

In the evening Maan left for Delhi his flight was next day, Geet was a little depressed but she knew if they got that project he will be going to London quite frequently. She was a very practical girl and she never mixed her stupid emotions with work ethics.

She participated in the Mad Moods, and daily was back by 7:45 pm to the mess where the phone was kept, he called daily at sharp 8 pm, his flight was on Friday mid night IST, he would be back to Bhopal on Monday, he said he will call her on Saturday at around 12:00 am, she just smiled.

The mad moods week was enjoyable the first day was full with various quiz competitions, next day was Mural designing and craft day, the third day was outdoor sports including Tug of War, 4^th day was trip to Bhojpur, and 5^th day i.e., Friday was rehearsals for the cultural program.

On Saturday, the cultural s started at sharp 7 pm in the SAC, the 1^st years worked hard for the program's they performed on Saturday Night song, one bhangra skit, fashion show, a group dance on aaj kal tere mere pyaar ke, and a solo song by Geet. After that they had their dinner and at about 11:20 pm the girls were back in their hostel, telling the engineering girls about what fun they had. At 12 sharp he called her and she was so excited, he was still at the airport and they had a hearty talk till the operator intertwined saying it was long and they should hang the call.
