Who brought Usha Uthup down to tears ???

Usha Uthup, the original Diva of Indian pop music, with powerful vocal chords has always been seen as strong willed and full of life with her trademark wide infectious smile! One can't imagine her crying but viewers will see her in tears on this Friday's epidsode of Zee TV's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa li'L Champs. Himachal's Sanjana Bhola rendition of 'Koi yehan yehan nache nache' had celebrity guest Usha Uthup as Mahaguru for this week's episodes in the absence of Alka Yagnik. She was thoroughly impressed by the pool of talent that she witnessed on the show.

The girl who tugged her heartstrings was none other than Sanjana Bhola from Himachal Pradesh. 'Sanjana reminds me of my struggling days...' said the singing maestro Usha Uthup as tears welled up her eyes. Discrimination against women has always been the norm of the society and one is surprised to hear that years ago, Usha Uthup was also at the receiving end. Viewers following the show would know that the quality which distinguishes Sanjana from others is her husky and powerful tonal quality of her voice. It's a boon for Sanjana as in the current times, the industry has opened up to experimentation and is welcoming the voices which sound different. Usha ji recollected, "I had to struggle a lot in the industry in those days because of my tonal quality. Musicians preferred singers with soft melodious voices. But there weren't any compositions for singers with my kind of voice. Sanjana today reminded me of my younger days as her voice quality is quite similar to mine. I want to congratulate Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li'l Champs for promoting such kids and giving them this coveted platform to showcase their talent"
