What is wrong with Jayetsar as a place to stay in?

To date, I have a problem what exactly J's problem is in terms of city life vs. town life.

In terms of lifestyle, If you look at the Haveli it is very modern and full of modern-day conveniences. It's not a thatch roof hut that hangs together with cowdung as cement. It has a big-screen tv, the kitchen is modern, all the rooms have comfortable furnishings.

He wants to live in one room in Mumbai in Kundatai's because it is modern?

And I can understand if he had to work in a small little dispensary somewhere in Jayetsar. But instead, his family built him a multi-speciality hospital where he would be the CEO and start at the top. They were in the process of hiring several doctors to work under him when he said that he didn't want to stay in Jayetsar and run the hospital.

He has his motorbike and there will be occasional trips to the movies etc.

I honestly dont understand his decisions.

He is a man who always wants something that he does not have.
He wants to be part of a high reputable hospital, have a great romantic life with an equally talented wife/girlfriend. chill and relax.

He is not a man who likes to take responsibility to naturally, to run a hospital he needs to have brains and more than that some heart which he clearly lacks. He doe snot have the ability for that.

To deal with villagers and their attitude, their lifestyle understanding , slow-life compared to Mumbai life and other things.

He wants to be known as a person who is 'forward' rather than some social service type guy working for lepers or something.

he is ashamed of his own root!!

jetsar is a village...he doesnt like to be called as a village boy

according to him village boy means "gawar".😡😡

He doesnt get the fun and enjoyment of following things in Jetsar that he can so enjoy in a big city:-

1. Pollution and smog
2. Traffic congestion and road rage
3. Street food dusted with real dust from road side
4. Modern western clothes made of polyester that stick to your body when you sweat
5. modern girls - mmm eye candy
6. small living quarters with barely enough room to move, increases intimacy between him and G
7. Poha made by kunda tai (forget ghevar and daal-baati)
8. Dysentery due to bad food
9. Limited water supply
10. Most of all the joy of living with G

nothing is wrong with Jetser... but everything is wrong for Jagya... even his name... thats y changed it to Jagat at 1st chance... woh nahi jaanta naam kitna bhi badal le.. woh kabhi acha aadmi nahi ban sakta ..

Agreed with every word!

He is basically a shallow guy who thinks living in a big city like Mumbai is being modern, even if you are living in a small chawl.

I also think he feels suffocated by his family. He only wants them to silently keep sending him money while he does his own thing in Mumbai.🤢

His prime reason for staying in Mumbai is Gauri - at least at this point of time. He knows that village or family won't accept him and would consider Gauri as other woman. So he wants to escape from it all and stay with his ''latest choice'' (yes that's what I would call Gauri in relation to J's fickle fancies) in Mumbai.

I wonder if he really wanted to do MS too! Or did it do it because Gauri was doing it and so that he could be with Gauri?

More than thinking about A or G, I want this man to someday sit quietly and take a stock of his life, put his actions and decisions in perspective and reflect on what he did till date in every aspect of his life! I really want this man to do some serious self introspection - he will realise what a dumba** he has been! 🤢😡

Selfish and escapist - two words which describe this man and his actions!

jaitser is a mad place really😆😆😆crazy place ppl welcome a just fresh mbbs by garlands welcome him like he has won a world cup🤪

actually on a serious note it depends on a person to person

maybe jagya enjoys city life more, others dont , simple, may be finds jaitser boring and really it is boring , maybe enenjoys fast paced life of mumbai

and really i have seen ppl living in mumbai, they say if u stay in mumbai for 1 year its damn difficult to leave that place,

Well it looks crazy to us, but in small villages, getting higher education and becoming a doctor or engineer is a big deal. So they reacted this way.

Agreed on your points about city life being more attractive and addictive, especially if it is a city like Mumbai.

Maybe he would have been happier if his Bapu sa had built him a hospital in Mumbai and got him a bungalow too!😆

I don't see anything wrong with Jagya's decision to leave haveli and stay in a one-room rented apartment for studies. Its only till he is studying...later on when he starts earning--- he might be able to live nicely in Mumbai, ...buy apartments/cars and take up the city life style.

The lynchpin is Jagya's washed hands on matter Anandi.

Yes we know he is a creep. He is immune to moral, ethical or social obligations and perhaps his only real allegiance is to himself. But was it always so? Was he always so insensitively self centred? Had he really no feelings for Anandi? To elaborate; He was prone to follies, but was he not showed distinctly seeking Anandi's presence in the childhood? Yes the viewers too had been falling in groove watching that lively girl tackling her unending tribulations with fortitude and as much courage as possible, but mostly in steadily gaining bond of friendship with Jagya. The boy had been indulged widely under Dadisa's spoiling impunity. But had he not positive or restraining influences of Bhairav, Shyam, Sumitra or Anandi's herself? Then he had never turned obtuse enough to be irrevocably self absorbed and insensitive rascal. Actually, one of his redeeming points amidst many flows, before the leap, was his notice of injustice to Anandi and some brave or upfront defiance to Dadisa on the matters. He was supportive to Anandi's efforts and camaraderie was clearly there. A bond was forged and strengthened in a shared childhood of stormy years and series of serious family crisis-right up to the adolescent parting. By then, Anandi's presence was etched in his evolving mind, not just a contemporary friend, but someone special; protecting his life- risking her own and a true ally in every bit. This bond was clearly manifest at the threshold of adulthood and eagerly recognized by both. Then how has Jagdish turned diametrically opposite from his original leaning? The question is to Cvs convoluted ways to ramrod their hurriedly recalled 'massage' in a manner, where complete vault-face of these etched characteristics or portrayals is forced down the viewer's throats. The credibility of 'message' gets compromised -it stumbles into an unintended issue of bigamy or adultery. How are we to believe that Jagya had no feeling for Anandi ('never' as claimed by him), when we are exposed to the contrary for adequate no of scenes? Was it all mere a ticklish? Then where went the affinity operating under irrefutable dynamics of that original bond forged far earlier? Would it not override any later attraction acquired more probably under the alluring glare of a more sophisticated novelty? Here, he is showed steadfastly loyal and dedicated. But then how believably 'unwavering' can he be showed in light of former caprice? The lines are unconvincing- both on Jagya, and his churlish treatment towards Anandi.
