God, if that is how the husband and wife talk, really they don't need another woman to break up their marriage - it'll break up out of sheer BOREDOM!

It's like they were talking in Sanskrit! The last time I heard such long sentences in such shudh Hindi was when I watched Mahabharat, I think :P

Which brings up another, related question. I thought these characters are supposed to be from Lucknow. Why the hell doesn't any of their vocabulary reflect that?

llol..i beg to differ.
if u knew a bit more hindi u'd get the dialogues

and i have friends from lucknow...it doesn't reflect- perfectly logical

I didn't say I didn't understand. I just said it was boring and ancient. I was in Uttar Pradesh for 2 years, and I can tell you that they do not speak like that in Delhi or Lucknow. And either way, it was joke - I was being sarcastic.

It was actually a rasam, as mama and maami said. They probably say these words and do that tiny hawan kinda kind to keep the promises :)
