Sana elated with film debut
Sana Sheikh, aka Ganga of STAR Plus Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya, is getting positive response for her first Bollywood film Singham in which she played the lead actress Kajal Aggrwal aka Kavya Bhosale's younger sister Anjali.
We spoke to Sana Sheikh about her film response and her experience.
"I am happy that everyone loved my chirpy role in Singham and fans on Facebook wrote what they liked about my character–Anjali. Even my family members enjoyed watching the film and my character. Before the release of the film, I was nervous about the reaction from my fans and family but I am glad I am getting positive response and people have appreciated my role. Apart from my family and fans, even the light men, my hair dresser in Pratigya loved my character and most importantly the film."
Talking about her experience on working in television and films, she says, "I am happy working both in films and television and my experience has been satisfactory. I believe in creative satisfaction and I am happy that in both mediums, I have got substantial roles. I feel hard work always pays off."
Which medium does she prefer the most. "Apart from television shows and film, I am doing a Radio show too, so there is nothing particularly that I like or prefer than the other. I believe in enjoying my work. I also believe that good characters also play an important role in your career as fans never forget a good role- like they still talk about my first show on Disney channel– Kya Mast Hain Life. Nowadays, it is very hectic to do television shows as we shoot round the clock but at the same time I am enjoying the character of Ganga. Working in film is easier as at times you have a gap of few days or a month too. working non stop or with breaks is part of an actor's job."
Her experience with Ajay Devgan and Rohit Shetty was superb she adds, "It was nice working with Ajay Devgan though I had only one scene with him. While doing that scene, I never felt I was working with a big actor as he is very down to earth and chilled out. Even Rohit Shetty is cool and gives space to his actors to perform in their style which I think is good. If I get a chance, I would definitely like to work with them again."
