Teej is a festival in which married women do fast for their husband .. they neither eat or drink anything... so it is basically done for long life and safety of husband... Acc to mythology.. this fast was done by.. Parvati after which she got lord Shiva...

SF asked Gulaal to keep this fast for kesar...IN PRECAP.. we can see kesar asking gulaal to tell SF whole truth but gulaal denies...

Nooo teej! It's Jaya Parvati which gujarati women do. She can't eat food with salt in and she also has to stay up for the whole night till the sun sets the next day.

Duddde, agreed! No teej. I had to do Jaya Parvati! It's for 5 days. I think I died a little inside. Plus you have to do puja everyday. It comes once each year. You have to do 5 in total. You become so weak - but that didn't stop me from watching Gulaal ;)
