Devyani... The Mahaan 'Woman'

Hi Everyone! 🤗

Okay, perhaps much about Devyani has already been discussed. But I had to make this post.. to vent out my annoyance, and to know your opinions. I know this is only fictional. Still, I am reacting this way to it partly because of the fictional character 'Devyani', and partly because of the show makers for portraying a character like this!

Till a point I thought Devyani is brave. Whatever be it, she has the guts to tolerate, to stay calm, to show herself as a strong woman.

But, yesterday my thoughts just shattered. I was shocked! Such coward a woman can be! (Woman.. is she even one?) For a moment I just tried to place myself in her shoes, still I could not support that behavior.What was she thinking? Can any one of you guess?

What excuse can Devyani give? If she thought this would break her 'family', then she knows well that she basically doesn't have a real family. If she think no one will believe Priya, & her life will be ruined? Then it doesn't matter if anyone else believes Priya.. At least Priya would be free of the humiliations, of the pain that she has been carrying with her. Atleast Devyani could call herself a woman.. I just don't understand how she can not have any self esteem. She should loathe herself. But yeah, why blame Devyani? A person who can tolerate and live with a sick animal like SSP definitely has no self-respect. For once I thought while watching the episode, what if the same thing happened with her instead of Priya, could she tell herself to forget it in the same way she told Priya?

Basically... Devyani doesn't care about anyone, but herself. Neither she cared about Vidya, nor does she care about Priya. She ruined one life as a mother. She's ruining another as a wife. At the end only 'herself' matters. Devyani doesn't want to lose HER son, and HER husband. I could still, somehow understand that being a wife it's not so easy to go against your husband. But she even subdued Priya! How could she? And what did she say... it was a co-incident which neither SSP nor Priya knew? W*F! If Priya didn't become the DIL of the house, then what SSP did with her wouldn't have been wrong? So cheap Devyani is. Lol! A woman with no self respect doesn't want to lose the respect of the world! How ironic! 🤣

I don't think so. There are women who under go the turmoil but hide them from society until their tolerence limit is broken down. Devyani is thus saving the family from disgrace. That is why the title is ' Maryada, lekin kab tak?' Already Uttara broke her maryada limits and killed her husband. Priya is almost on the verge of sinking down the boat of her maryada. Vidya tonight may loose her patience and spill the beans about gaurav. Now devyani's turn to expose her husband's bad deeds to the world. I sympathise with all these women. This is a well directed and thoughtful show.

Devyani just cares about the so-called image that she thinks her family is...a perfect family... she lives in a dream, she is a character who does not want to wake up and look at the reality thats around her

She is asking priya to keep quiet in her own interest. If priya exposes SSP's bad character, there will be a outburst from Aditya which may take an ugly turn in all relationships in the family. Aditya may end up in Jail for he took an oath to kill the person who played with his beloved's life.
