The episode starts with Minoo telling the family, that on the following day there will be Sakharpuda, the wedding engagement ceremony of her Abhi. Kaka says that it is nice Breaking News. Minoo wonders how some people will not even congratulate, perhaps they are upset. She feels, with her nose in the air, it is her
bounden duty to invite her close relatives and as a responsible woman, she is doing her duty. She says, that this is what she has learnt, and these are her signs of a good upbringing. Whatever others might do, how could she leave her own family. Stretching her hand with her invitation card, she proudly tells them to come if they find it feasible, and they stare at her, but finally, Mr Patwardan, takes the card from her without saying anything. Shyamal asks Minoo why she is rushing and having the Sakarpura so fast. Minoo tries to explain that the Amravati girl was still waiting and she is happy that the girl is belonging to a good family and the greatest thing with her that she is not a liar. She knows how to speak to elders. The rest of the family does not show any feeling towards her, and she goes on praising herself and her son. Finally, she gives a parting shot at Naina, and says, if she had not made a mistake of accepting her, the dutiful son of hers would have been married by now. One has to wait and see if her sense of judgement is as good as she has shown towards her own son, who for her is an honest, truthful, and obedient boy with all the good upbringing she has imparted him. After taking all the pains to paint herself as the gracious and wise woman, she takes their leave, and as a send off, Vibha says, with a grim feeling that she wishes her as well as her son, good.
After Minoo has left and night has fallen, the family is in the hall. Vibha asks her husband, why her sister does it, and her husband tells her that she is blinded by her pride and wants to show her that she is better. Kaka sees the whole drama in a lighter vein and says that they could use the same clothes they had repared for Naina's marriage, and in the meantime Naina comes in and sees the whole family drowned in gloom and sadness. Daksh, not knowing that Naina is behind him, tells the family, not to tell her about Abhi, as she will be broken hearted after she hears the news. Naina says, "No. You do not have to hide anything from me, and I
have heard everything. Let him marry whomever he wants. I do not lose anything." Daksh asks if she feels nothing and says, that she is trying to tell them that she does not feel, then his mother intervenes, and he tells her that Naina is hiding her feelings, and Daksh gives her Abhi's invitation card to read. She coolly reads it aloud and hands it over back to Daksh. Daksh is upset, not knowing why Naina is so indifferent to the situation.
Actually, he tries to prove to himself, and rather than express his love for her, he wants her to come to the realization on her own, by facing this challenge. It is the immaturity of youth, the elders too can not seem to realize.
Vibha makes some lame efforts, but her son is incensed that Naina is still indifferent and his pushing makes no difference. He challenges her to go to his Sakarpura, and the mother wants to stop him. But the son tells that one needs courage to face the man who was to marry her, and now chooses someone else, and Naina stares at him, trying to figure him out. He tells her she will not be able to see him putting the ring on his new bride, and face his Aunt Minoo. Daksh walks away, triumphantly, thinking he has challenged her, and waits for her reaction, and she jumps into his trap, and says, "I will go to his function." in a defiant response. For some time, there is a to and fro retort, and Daksh wants to know if she falters, but the girl is adamant, and defiant. when Daksh asks her to think again, she tells him, "You should think again Daksh, if you will go to his function or not" He says he will also come. Naina tells him, that she is not like others but knows when to emember relationships, and when they are to be broken, she knows how to leave them in the past. She tells him, that Abhimanyu for her is only his aunt's son. As she ascends the steps, she turns back and reminds Daksh what he said in the night a few days ago, and in the morning he was sorry. She does not elaborate, but leaves Daksh confused. When all ask Daksh why he aggravates Naina's pain, he tells that in some cases the best medicine for pain is pain itself, and it is important for her to know that, which she will face when she goes to the function. This person pretends that he knows so much about her, but yet, has not had the guts to come out and tell her the truth in her face, but had to be drunk in order to bring it out.
Sonakshi calls Daksh as he is preparing to go to sleep, and tells him to see what she has done. He sees that she has changed the photo in the frame and he asks her why she did it. She says, that soon the room will also be hers, and there is no need of Naina in the room. She asks him, if he liked her surprise. She also tells him, that she has one more surprise, and he should meet her for lunch tomorrow but he says, no, that he can not do it. He says that he is on leave, and when she says that is very good, they can be together the whole day, he says again, that he can not be with her, as he is going to Lonavla. He closes his call to her abruptly, and she goes into her dreams of life with him.
Naina is walking up and down, and gets flash backs of the days with Abhi and his promises and show of dedication and love. It looks to her that these were all signs of an empty headed man, and wonder why it did not strike her then. When she remembers how in contrast to all the show of love he was so callous and cowardly, in front of his mother, when she was challenging her honesty and truthfulness, even after her telling him, and he hiding her letter from his mother. As she has a tear in her eye, Daksh enters, and she hears another specimen of the male of the species, asking her if she is thinking of what she would do on the next day. Daksh wants to be philosophical and wants to caution her about what she may expect. She tells him that it is he who should think, of the morrow. He will need it more. She compares old memories as dirt in the house, and as you do in cleaning the room, you sweep off unwanted things, so also one should do the same with unwanted memories. To forget these memories, one night is enough.
In the pre-cap, Daksh is taking Naina to Lonavla, and Sonakshi has come to his house, and sees them in the car, and says, "Daksh, Naina...". Naina faces him, and wonders.
