Actually, what I liked was that at the accident scene, Priya told Ram first that their engagement should be broken, before he could tell her the same. This way, she has put him on notice that she is not going to be broken up too much. She probably hurt his ego.

I seemed to sense some sadness on his part in letting go of her. He is, and knows it, the unloved one (only Bansi cares for him in his house - note I don't call it a home), it's quite the opposite for Priya. Starved for love, the glimmers of affection may actually start from his side.
