Tid bits:Rakshanda's tantrums on the sets

Rakshanda Khan is one actor who rarely loses her temper. With the kind of image (that of a thorough professional) she has in the industry, it is hard to believe that she can throw tantrums just because she didn't like the name of her character in the serial.

The incident took place last week when Rakshanda was shooting for Zee's serial Kasamh Se. It was the first day of her shoot and she was pretty happy with the way her character was shaping up. Everything was fine till the time Ms Khan was handed over the script.

In the dialogues, she was to be called Roshni Chopra which co-incidentally happens to be the real name of another actor (screen name Pia) from the same serial. And Rakshanda immediately put her foot down saying she doesn't want to glorify someone else's (read rival's) name on screen.

"She was so mad that she just refused to shoot," revealed a source present on the sets. "She even called up the channel and said she doesn't want to be called by that name." When the director intervened and tried reasoning with her saying there shouldn't be a problem considering the fact that she has earlier played a character called Mandira which also happens to be an actor's name, the leggy lass had her argument well in place, "Her name was Mandira, not Mandira Bedi!"

When we tried talking to her, she seemed to have mellowed down, but the anger was still very much evident in her voice, "Yes I was aware of the similarity between my on-screen name and one of the heroine's real name in the show. Therefore I requested my producer to change the name. But then they informed me that the name Roshni Chopra is in the running in the serial, in dialogues and everything else for four weeks. So nothing could be done and I too had to accept the same," said the diplomatic actor trying her level best not to sound bitchy.

Looks like spending more than a decade in the industry has made Rakshanda an expert in the diplomacy game. After all, she cannot afford getting producers like Ektaa Kapoor angry. Guess she has many more years of survival in tellywood
