Today the scenes for Kesar were quite varied in emotions. It just gets repetitive to say Neil did his best in all those scenes. My personal favorite was Kesar with Talli, where a wide range of emotions were displayed.

The scene with Gulaal and her Champa was sweet. He kept smiling and feeling happy at her childishness when it came to Champa. But significant was when he asked why she deliberately separated herself from what was close to her ONCE upon a time. Her answer gives some hope.

The scene when Gulaal barges in to discuss Talli issue to be sorted ASAP.

Kesar was planning his surprise for her. I think he was taking down the directions for reaching her two friend's house, so when she walked in without announcement; he hurriedly hid his phone and the notepad under the pillow. One more reality check it was for Gulaal when he said that Talli's life was being ruined so far when she lived in dark holding on to an uncertain dream and also when he did not hide the fact and blurted out that he too has been (and still is) in love with her. What I liked about Gulaal's dialogues where when she puts herself and Kesar together as "HUM" more than once. She said "Hum use is tarah shaadi karne nahi de sakte Kesar, we need to talk sense into her" and as well as when she said "Sudha Babhi HUMSE naraaz hain". And this time in spite of hearing it again from Kesar, though she was snapped for a moment, she again requested him to talk to Talli.

How better it looks when she comes to Kesar and DISCUSSES than deciding herself. But I would still say she was being selfish here using Kesar to talk it over with Talli.

One particular sequence I liked best here was Kesar's first shocked reaction when he hears from Gulaal that Talli wants to marry. For a moment he would have thought about himself (again) but when Gulaal says "kisi se bhi", he wonders with "Kya??" because he is confused about her sudden decision too. I agree that Talli has decided in a hurry to be off from their lives but then like Kesar says if the faster she realizes, it is better for her to come out of that grief. Well it is just heartbreak, isn't it? This heartbreak of Talli pales in front of what Gulaal had to actually go through when her husband DIED.

The best scene that I liked was Kesar talking to Talli. Neil did a good job and I really liked Hally's performance.

Kesar looks at Talli and he does feel sorry for what he did to her. He is unable to meet her eye because of the guilt. But I must say Talli understands him and tries to cheer him up saying she is not going away so soon. He tells her he does not know what to say that would console her, that he understands that this decision might have been hard on her and she has showed enough courage to handle herself but he was genuinely worried if she really knew the consequence of this sudden decision. Talli tried her best to hide her pain and answer him with a smile on her face and when she couldn't she turned away from him and tried to snub him saying did he expect her to cry over him lifelong, that her husband would be the best husband and be all that Kesar could never be to her. Her disappointment and the actual expectation she has from a marriage was shown well by her.

Kesar realized that she was struggling hard to fight her emotions and tears and decides to ease the situation by adding some mischief on his part and snubs her back saying when she leaves he would be at peace. It troubles her if she was so bad that he really feels so happy with her decision. From here on their conversation was beautiful. He asks her if she really thinks that her going away would make him happy, and he reassures her that she has been his best friend, someone who understood him the best, someone who showed him the right path many times(I would relate to the scene in childhood where she tells him not to fall in bad company and not to drink "Bhaang" as well as the scene where she makes him realize that forcing someone to love is a vain attempt), that he would be left LONELY after she leaves. He said lonely because he knows about Gulaal. At least he is still encouraging her to move on and not asking her to think otherwise. He is not holding her back saying after three months, if Gulaal goes away I may need you. Gulaal is still hoping that things would work out between Kesar and Talli later.

The end of the emotional ride makes way for a light hearted conversation where he teases her as "Dabloo", but again he has only love and affection for his dear friend and wishes her that her husband would be the best and henceforth there would only be happiness in her life.

Hey Meysimi, skimmed through your write up for today, seems very interesting have not had time to catch up with the show yet, but at last everything seems peaceful and happy days are here again.

I am glad that finally after nearly 2 and a half months, the character Gulaal (and MP) has been allowed to express some other emotions apart from a stressed out and stressful (to viewers) sphinx like sterness and rigidity. She smiled because of Champa and it looked like a genuine not a politically correct, sad or forced smile. The sort that reminds you of the bubbly, mischevous character that had been introduced to us at the onset of the serial. Kesar has had the opportunity to display a wide spectrum of emotions (all of which NB does superlatively!) helping us understand his character better...

Yes I liked that Gulaal unconsiously used the word "hum" - her trust in Kesar is evident in that one simple word. She needed a confidante and since Talli has stopped enabling her, she turned to Kesar!! Again I was struck by the domesticity of the scene, the room is becoming more and more like a couple's lair. The interchange of her confiding and seeking help from Kesar and him in turn trying to reason with her about a diffrent point of view on the issue at hand was something that echoed conversations that married couples normally have. What I liked about this scene was that Kesar seems to have shed some of the "awe factor" people feel about Gulaal's decisions and was reasoning with her as an equal. Till Gulaal views Kesar as an adult capable of mature thoughts and actions, she will not be able to appreciate him as a plausible partner - for that he needs to stand up to her self destructive (though well meant) reasoning.
@underline: True!
Talli is broken hearted about an infatution and the embarassment of being stood up at the altar but Gulaal's widowhood after a couple of weeks of marriage was shocking - mainly because she knows that Dushyanth's infatuation and (suspects) Durgesh's vendetta (again because of her) were the causes for her husband's murder. This is the root cause of her misery - losing Vasanth was bad, but how does one come to terms with a reality like that?

The best scene that I liked was Kesar talking to Talli. Neil did a good job and I really liked Hally's performance.

@ underlined : I have always liked how this newbie actress has assayed such a difficult role. Talli is a character that I love to hate - even now despite her Chunni inspired altruism. The character represents hope and the possibilities that Gulaal could have embraced but for her "Ek Ruka Hua Faisla" of the deeyarvattu! Gulaal made the DV decision at a similar age and brought her life to a standstill.
The main thing that I liked about today's serial was the fact that most characters (in their own context) were reiterating the importance of moving on in life and accepting joy as a necessary goal in life. Motaba gently chiding Gulaal about an unrealistic promise was the highlight of the day. Him further gently rebuking Sudha about giving into this kind of irresponsible silliness of planning KT dreams was much needed. Finally Motaba has come into his element as the one eyed emperor in the kingdom of the blind!!
I enjoyed todays episode - the dialogues were excellent! and the KG scenes were Talli free...I am hoping Talli's evolution (despite her current hurt) and ability to move on is a lesson for Gulaal.
On the lighter side, has Motaba taken a page out of Gulaal's book and also broken off his DV with Paanba? Where is she? has she been liberated from the bedlam of Talsagra?😉
Thanks so for letting me comment regularly to your posts!. I really enjoy reading your analyses of the episodes.

Talli has taken a quick decision, but as she speaks to Chunni and later when she speaks to Kesar, it is evident that she still hurts. But there is a point in life when you are forced to take decisions just to escape a worse situation. For some it turns out as a blessing. When we look back we feel, hadn't that pressure been there, I would have never decided to take this step. This can apply for Gulaal as well. Later when she accepts Kesar, she would realise that the Deeyarvatu with Kesar taken out of the pressure that she was in at that point of time, did give her pain(all her own), but it was after all a blessing to have Kesar in her life who loves her the most.
On the lighter side, has Motaba taken a page out of Gulaal's book and also broken off his DV with Paanba? Where is she? has she been liberated from the bedlam of Talsagra?😉 She can be away but at least they can weave a story for her conspicuous absence. same applies for Daiba too

Oh Trifolia, I should thank you for reading it in detail and responding. When no one does, you do feel bad. So I always look forward to all responses and definitely yours.
