PART - VI

GEET : will u accompany with me to the beauty parlour

Pari dropped the fashion magazine in her hand when she heard beauty parlour from GEET's mouth.

GEET : pari r u free will u come with me?

PARI : GEET r u sure u wanna go to beauty parlour, u have never gone there before what happened suddenly u r concentrating on ur looks

GEET : i need a MAKE OVER so will u help me in changing my looks

PARI : MAKE OVER but y

GEET (stood before the mirror): we are going to Australia... and look at my self ' this salwar kameej, long hair, my accessories. People over there would stare at me as if i have landed from an entirely new planet. I don't want to draw any unnecessary attention towards me. I know all this is not my type but "jaisa desh vaisa vesh" we need to change according to the time and surroundings. So i have decided to change my looks. Will u help me out?

PARI : ofcourse yes ...pari iss kaam me specialist hai, check out i am going to change u completely, look at ur original self for the last time.

Both of them chuckled at Pari's words.

They went to Beauty Parlour she has shortened the length of her hair to shoulder length. Got her hair slight curly hair straightened. Pari got GEET's hands and legs Waxed, though GEET hesitated. Pair suggested facial ... GEET ran away from there when she heard facial "OMG if i allow PARI to do whatever she wants to - then i won't recognise myself in the mirror for sure"

PARI : Geet .. listen to me u r going to look gorgeous y don't u try this facial once.

GEET : enough i am not going to stay here anymore enough is enough what are all these creams, perfumes, face washes ...OH GOD!!!! i don't like to get used to all this stuff. I just don't want people to look at me strangely that's it, i am not a model or a heroine who is bothered about her looks. I told u that i don't want any unnecessary attention.

PARI : ok as u wish, let's go for shopping

They went to a shopping mall to purchase some modern clothes. Geet selected few jeans pants, some simple and plain tops. Pari selected her some sleeveless T-shirts and shorts "Pari u want me to wear sleeveless tops and shorts in the office, besides i don't like sleeveless tops" GEET exclaimed. Pari said "sorry" and placed the clothes back in their place.

She selected some knee length casuals, skirts with pretty tops, some formal shirts and a scarf to replace her dupatta. She gets irritated whenever her dupatta slides down her shoulders but "aadat se majbur" even after deciding to change her looks she wanted to replace her dupatta with a scarf. She purchased sweatshirt, hand gloves as she got to know that snow fall is heavy in CANBERRA during winter season. Pari has also purchased some casual wear and winter clothes along with GEET.

Pari : how about these heels they suit u well try these once

GEET : pointed heels... no PARI, i am fine with flat heels ... i will try those.

After 6 hours of shopping they came back to their home feeling tierd and exhausted.

Geet and Pari threw all their shopping bags aside and fell on the bed facing the ceiling of their room.

GEET : finally done with shopping we are going to leave tomorrow Pari have u packed everthing?

PARI : ya i am very much excited about our stay over there... hmmm CANBERRA - we need to explore the city on weekends. I hope we can have lots of fun over there ' cool weather, snow capped mountains, parks, Lake Cruises, skiing on the snow ooohhh i wan't to experience all those.

GEET : come out ur dream land we are not going on an enjoyment trip, we are going to work there. I don't think we would get ample time to explore the city.

PARI : oh yeah u r right but u have to promise me if we get enough time we are going to explore the entire city

GEET (smiled): ofcouse yes

Next day morning @ airport

Maan : where are these girls they told me that they would meet me directly at the airport i have been waiting for them from half an hour, don't they have time sense.

Pari : hi MK r u waiting for us, sorry heavy traffic couldn't reach here on time - plz don't mind.

Pari said this with a sweet smile on her face.

MAAN (selfthought : what am i going to do even if i mind) : that's ok

MAAN is searching behind PARI for GEET. He is shocked at what he has seen "gorgeous" he said without his knowledge."Is she GEET? No she can't be... she has changed completely". GEET wore black flat heels matching her black jeans she wore a simple and pretty white top with small sleeves and a black scarf around her neck. She left her straightened hair loose. She is wearing a silver bracelet on her right hand, black watch on her left hand, plain gold chain around her neck and white stoned ear rings. She is looking fabulous in this outfit. She is neither slim nor fat jeans suits her perfectly.

Geet used to wear pants occasionally but after coming to BANGALORE she never wore jeans, this is not the first time she is wearing pants. So she is comfortable with her outfit and carried it freely. The only major change for GEET is she got her hair cut, that's it. All the other things are of no big difference for her, she used to try different looks whenever she attends parties with her friends at her home town. In fact she always experiments with her looks whenever she wants to feel special. After coming to BANGALORE she didn't find time for these things and she doesn't even want to gain any attention in that crowd. She tried to be as simple as possible.

GEET : hi MAAN

MAAN didn't respond for few seconds later he said "HI". MAAN's head is filled with questions "am i dreaming? What's wrong with her? Why did she change herself? Ofcourse she is looking beautiful , she looks pretty in whatever she wears - but what's the need to change ". He excused PARI and GEET ... he went to the coffee stall which is a few steps away from them. He is sipping the black coffee looking at GEET's new avtar.

GEET turned towards MAAN her happiness knew no bounds on what she has seen. Her eyes are sparkling like stars there is a big smile playing on her lips she ran towards him ignoring the people staring at her with confused looks. MAAN didn't understand y she is running towards him like that he stood still as he is unaware of how to react.

GEET ran towards MAAN's direction his heart started racing with light speed, he threw the coffee cup in waste basket and moved a step forward towards Geet when he is about stretch his arms she shouted "DAD" and hugged the old man who is present beside him.

GEET encircled her dad's neck with her arms, closed her eyes and gave him a tight hug indicating how much she missed him. Her eyes are filled with tears but she didn't let those tears come out of her eyes she controlled herself and broke off the hug.

GEET : u told me that u have a busy schedule today ' meetings, launching of the new machine, construction on the site...oh then u wanted to give me a surprise, so u gave me all those excuses

"no beta he has cancelled all the appointments just to say good bye to u" said Rano (Geet's mother)

" really dad u r the best dad in the world " GEET said this by pulling her dad's cheeks - that's her childhood habit of expressing love.

Maan is present beside them, watching all the circus happening infront of him. Pari came to meet Geet's parents.

Pari : Namaste uncle - aunty

Mohinadar : oh u r pari right, nice to meet u beta Geet tells a lot about u.

Rano : arey!!! ... GEET... ye tumne kya kiya ...baal katvadi

Maan's self thought : bilkul sahi pucha aapne ...kya jaroorat thi baal katvane ki? She changed herself entirely i agree she is looking gorgeous, fabulous, most pretty but still she isn't looking bad earlier ...then y did she change herself.

GEET : mom we can't be the same always we need to mould ourselves as per the circumstances

Mohindar : Rano koi baat nahi hai...dekho na she is looking fabulous ... my daughter is the most good looking and pretty girl in the world

GEET blushed and hugged his father. "mom don't u feel u r forgetting something" said Geet.

Rano : me about what?

GEET : mom my gift i am leaving the country and u didn't bring anything for me

Rano (she smiled and gave her 2 boxes): e loh tumhari gift? Par ek shart hai u have to tell me what is inside without opening the boxes right?

GEET (she knew that those are sweet boxes): ok then let me guess...hmm ek box me RASGOLLA aur ek box me JALEBI ...my favourite right??

RANO : ya these are for u

GEET (this time she is pulling her mom's cheeks): mom u r really sweet

" khilao khilao isko aur mota banao, ladka doonde me mushkil hojayegi mom" said Titu.

GEET : titu ... u brat

PARI : titu is right she is becoming fat now-a-days. Plz don't feed her sweets aunty.

GEET : pari e saab FAT nahi hai meri mom ka PYAAR hai

everyone laughed listening to this

GEET : u told me that u have an exam today

Titu : i have finished all of my exams day before yesterday

GEET(with fake anger on her face) : oh then everyone lied to me

Titu : naraaj hone ki koi jaroori nahi hai , jhoot bolne keliye i am paying the penalty for u

GEET : penalty?

" lo meri taraf se" Titu gave her one more box which is packed in a gift packing

GEET : what is this... one more sweet box ??? abhi abhi mera majak udaya aur phir se ek aur sweet box gift kar rahe ho

Titu : open the gift u will find for urself

GEET opened the gift packing and got surprised at what she has seen.

Titu : kya hua didi ankhe khule rah gaye aapki

GEET : titu this is very nice where did u get this it's awesome

Titu gifted a PEARL SET with matching earrings and bangles.

Titu : i have saved my pocket money and bought this for u

GEET : titu mujhe yakin nahi ho raha hai ki tumne mereliye e gift kharidi ... hmm lagta hai ki there is something u want to share with me - she whishpered in titu's ear "kuch baat batani hai kya papa se, kuch girl friend ki baat to nahi"

Titu : didi nahi nahi aisa koi baat nahi ... mai bus aapko surprise denekeliye kiya tha

"aur vaise bhi aap kuch bhool rahe ho"

GEET : me what?

"u didn't pull my cheeks for presenting the PEARL SET"

everyone laughed loud at titu's innocent statement

"Titu meri jaan ... luv u so much, thanx for such a wonderful gift" she said so by pulling his cheeks

Rano : Geet ...me and titu brought u something or the other, but look at ur dearest and loving father he didn't bring any thing for u ... how shameless!!!

GEET : papa cancelled all his appointments and meetings just for me that is the biggest gift for me

Rano : chahe kuch bhi ho jaye tum hamesha apni papa ke team me hote ho

GEET (with fake anger) : aap bhi hamesha titu ke side lete ho jab bhi hum donom ke beech kuch jagada hota

Mohindar smiled inwardly looking at their silly fight, he intentionally diverted their conversation.

Mohindar : GEET u told that some other guy is also going with u, Is he the guy - don't u introduce him?

GEET (showed MAAN): oh yes dad... he is MAAN i mean MAAN SINGH KHURANA

Mohindar whispered in GEET's ear "ya Mr.MK is handsome as u told me", "papa plz stop it" GEET whispered back by hitting slightly on his shoulder.

Mohindar (gave shake hand to MAAN) : nice to meet u Mr.MK, then u r accompanying with my daughter. U have the responsibility of these two girls on u, plz take care of these girls.

"sure uncle that's my responsibility to take care of GEET..." MAAN paused few seconds by saying so then he realised what he just said and repeated " i mean i will take care of both GEET ... and PARI"

Geet bent down and touched her parents' feet to take their blessings before leaving. Titu's hand brushed with Maan's hand in this process Maan's cell phone slipped from his hand beside Mohindar's feet. He bent down to collect his cell phone at the same time when Geet bent down to take their blessings. It's just a coincidence but it appeared like both MAAN and GEET are taking blessings form Mohindar and Rano at the same time. Maan understood the situation how it is appearing but he couldn't change it, he whole heartedly touched their feet along with Geet before taking the cell phone. GEET is surprised by Maan's behaviour.

Everyone knew that it's just a coincidence geet's parents also blessed both of them without any inhibitions or thinking otherwise about the situation.

They got up - Geet is still looking straight into Maan's eyes to find answer for the question "y did he do so?"

Pari : bless me also uncle-aunty

Geet waved them good bye and turned her back towards her parents to hide her tears.
