kunals gujrati chahci tells nimmo to throw rice at the back with her hands.... its a punjabi tradition tht girls have to perform.. but she said tht by throwin rice u give ur memories to ur ppl. but it is wrong... it is actually tht the bride's brothers stand at the back of her n she throws rice at them with her back to them.. it symbolizes tht brother i am leaving this house and going to my own and also giving all my responsiblities tht i had to u... after i am gone take care of the family.........

but the vidai scene was very emotional.. my dad( who was forced to c it as we were sitting in the same room) got emotional n hugged me... i was thoroughly touched😭

throwing of the rice behind the brides back has another significance. Daughters are known to be the laxmi of the home and good luck and such. So when she throws rice behind her, it is saying taht even though I am leaving this house, may wealth, health, and happiness always stay. When the bride goes to her susral, she pushes a pot full of rice with her feet, that is potraying taht she is bringing wealth, health and happiness with her to her new home as well. In muslim religions, we dont do the pot of rice with the feet, but we do the throwing of the rice when the girl leaves her parents home.
