Maan was bound by the un spoken promise he gave Geet that he will not follow her, one day while he was sitting in his office Simran came in "veer ji, these are the details and make it sure the tickets are in the business class" he looked at her in confusion "pardon, which tickets?" she made a face "veer ji you forgot I, Adi and Amma are going to Berkley for the launch of some writing work by Amma, um" he just remembered "oh, yes, ok I'll see to the tickets, but can't Adi look into this matter" she made a face again "veer ji Adi sure will book tickets in economy class, and I don't want to travel in such conditions when I can afford to travel in luxury" she stated innocently, "ok, my sweet little one surely I will book you in business class and Adi in economy" he said with a glint of mischief "no, veer ji Adi and I will go in same class, after all he is my hubby" he laughed at her expressions and she left before he could tease her more.

Kavita found that all were leaving but Maan, she banged in Adi's chamber "hey, Adi why is Maan not going with you all" Adi not aware that Geet worked at the same place said "IDK, may be he does not want to go" she gave some thought and said "hey, I have heard that next year they are offering some course on growing computer technologies and ways to enhance and upgrade yourself, some 6 month course, will you look in for details for Maan, I think it will suit him" he nodded "ok I will talk to Maan about it and see what can be done" she panicked "no do not tell him, I want to surprise him, what say man" he shrugged "ok, as you wish I will bring the specifications"

In September Savitri Devi, Simran and Adi left, there Geet made sure that she was not present during their visit. She took a week's leave and went to Austria to present a paper in River symposium 2006.

Adi on his return presented the details to Kavita, who studied them in detail and then waited for an opportunity.

March 2007, holi festival

Maan was as usual sitting on the side with his Maa while all were playing with colors, Kavita came in and touched Savitri Devi's feet and then put color on Maan's head, and said "Maan, are you not missing something" he looked at her and thought how she reads his mind always "um" she looked at him and pulled his hand and "come I need to talk to you" he looked at her and then her hand that held his arm "now!" she smiled "yes" he shrugged "ok" she took him to a far corner and said " remember Maan once you promised me that you will grant me a wish" and looked at some far point, he turned and looked at her thinking when and then he remembered "yes" she turned to look at him and saw what she wanted to see longing for Geet satisfied she said "its time you grant me that wish" he nodded and said "any thing" she smiled again and extracted the papers that gave the course details, she has very neatly removed the name of the institute offering the 6 month course, "look, there is a 6 month course I want you to take, and during that time I want you to let me run the K Empire" she has to make the offer in such a way that Maan thought she was to be benefited by it, he smiled and said "ok, you can run the KE for a yr or more but why do you want me to go away, while I stay here you can run it" she looked in his eyes and said "no, Maan you will have to leave,, then only" and did not bother to complete her statement, hr said "ok, as you say, I owe you so much, it's the least I can do for you" and returning the papers which he did not even bother to look at added " make the arrangements and tell me when I have to leave" she hugged him and said "thank you Maan, you will not regret I promise" he returned her gesture and said "I know I will not regret, you are one of my few well wishers"

She made all the arrangements and finally handed him the papers for him to sign which he did without even trying to read through.

April 2007,

It was time for Maan to leave he bid the twins goodbye and left to the unknown destination, during his flight he studies the documents for the first time and found that his destination was none other then university of California, Berkley.

2^nd April 2007, University of California, Berkley

It was a class of 60 students Maan was sitting in the 4^th row last seat, the HOD entered the lecture hall, and wished Good morning to the class; the class responded then he continued by introducing himself and told them about the course and other details, "any questions class, regarding what I just explained" silence no one responded they just looked at each others faces, "ok class now I will take your leave from here your Batch in charge or say your class teacher will take over" every one looked as if asking where is he "oh here she is, so class this is your class teacher Ms. Geet Handa" Maan who was till now just sitting bored suddenly jerked up and looked at her, yes she is his Geet. She was looking stunning in grey trousers, white shirt with grey coat, her hair were tied in a pony unlike the pigtail she carried in India, and she wore shinning white shoes and had a laptop on her shoulder that she was keeping on the table.

She smiled at the class and said "so class surprised, you all might be expecting some half bald professor, am I right" the class laughed, "good, so I am Geet Handa, you all can call me Ms. Handa, no calling by first name for the first couple of months, then we will think, ok" silence "am I that boring that you all choose to ignore me" "NO" said the students in unison "good, now lets start with introductions, start from the 1^st row" the 1^st student rose "I am David John, from Oceanside California, I am a computer graduate" she smiled and said "thank you, next" and the introductions continued she studied the students and marked something on the diary she was carrying, 1^st row then 2^nd then 3^rd then finally 4^th the last student rose and she froze, "I am Maan Singh, from Delhi, India I am a computer engineer and masters in business management" just then the alarm rang on her cell, she broke from the trance and said "thank you, be seated' then she took in a deep breath and said "today's time is up now for tomorrow you all will sit as per your roll numbers, they will be displayed on the notice board after lunch, and I don't want any complains on this class from any others teachers, the next class is of Professor Swaroop Nath, good bye for today, see you all tomorrow be on time, and also prepare some presentation on the topic that will be displayed on the notice board against your roll number, all the best, and once more welcome to the world of innovations" and she left, before leaving she looked intently in his direction, he responded with a smile.
