He had landed on the very morning of 2nd and used the guest room offered by the university for new students for a couple of days. He checked the roll list, he was roll no. 36 and his topic for presentation was "changes I technology since 2K" he smiled and went to attend his next lecture, after the college he went to the address Kavita has written in the dairy she gave him, the lodging was all paid for 6 months.
It was a 1 BHK flat on the 15th floor of the apartment near the University, he announced himself at the entrance and got the keys, he was 1505 here again a number he smiled. He settled in the flat prepared for the presentation, it was quite easy one, later around 8 pm he thought of going out to get some grocery shopping, he took the bag, his wallet and keys of the flat, and stepped out of the flat, he locked the door and headed to the lift he found a group of people waiting.
an elderly women asked him "are you the new tenant here?" he replied with a smile "yes" she added "you are Indian?" he nodded "yes" so now she will have some one from her country on this floor" the lady said he asked "who?" she looked behind him and said "here is she?" he turned and froze while the lady continued "good evening Julie good evening Geet, look here we have an Indian tenant" she turned and as their eyes met she also froze while Julie screamed "Maan, OMG I thought I will never see you in person, OMG you are here" and hugged him, he was taken aback by the action the lady asked her "hey Julie you know him?" Julie turned to her "yes, he the father of the twins" the lady exclaimed "yes, I was wondering where I saw him, hello Maan your kids are a darling, they are amazing" he smiled at the lady and said "yes, I know they are absolutely amazing, they take up this quality from their mother" Geet blushed and wondered where he met the twins. The lady turned to Geet "hey Geet you not happy to see him" Geet just smiled, the lady turned to Maan and said "how are the kids?" he said still looking at Geet "they are fine, have adjusted well to the new country, and are excelling in studies" the lady asked further "do they play pranks on you?" the lift came and they went inside while he said, "yes, on holy the festival of colors they tricked me into a drum full of colors and the other day when I went to their Open day at school, they made me believe that they have failed though the truth was that they came in first" the lady laughed and said "nice kids" the lift door opened on the ground floor and she bid him good bye.
He turned to Geet and unable to wait any more pulled her Julie just giggled and left "see you later Geet" he dragged her to the waiting lift and took her to his flat, once inside the flat he locked the door and moved dangerously towards her, she became nervous and took a step back one at a time finally colliding to the wall she was trapped between him and the wall. He traced her cheek and grabbed her shoulder bringing her closer, he closed the distance between their lips and touched them with his, she lost all the self control she had and surrendered, oh how much she missed him, she now realized, his touch was like "suraj ki tapti garmi main mil jaye jaise taruvar ki chaaya" {in the heat of sun when we get a shade of some tree his touch felt the same way}
he paused for a while to breath fresh air, she was panting but some thing went in her mind and she slapped him, he looked with shock she stated "you followed me, in spite of my telling you not to you came after me, you proved Maan that its just lust, physical attraction between us, Maan you proved that my insecurities were always right, there is just physical attraction on your side, you just want me only till I can give you a great sex life" she grabbed his shirt he was in a dazed state, it was hard for him to digest her word, she continued "Maan, you have always been selfish, the moment you saw the kids you took he first flight to claim me, ok you want to keep them ok you take them after all you are their father how can I stop you, but keep clear of me" she jerked and went straight to the door and out of the flat, leaving a hurt and confused Maan behind, he sobbed with frustration and humiliation, she thought his love no she thought that he wanted her body, no, Geet I love you and believe me Geet I did not follow you, he said to himself way after she had left.
She went straight to her flat sure that Julie will not be back fro another hour, she cried her heart out oh Maan forgive me for what I said but Maan what I did not realize at that time is that I am way too old for you, you need someone of your own age even younger, Sameera will definitely suit you, as for twins are concerned they are understanding and they know their parents can not live together they will not mind and she sobbed bitterly.
Next day, class
She entered the lecture hall and scanned the class as she greeted them, all the students were sitting as per their roll number, first 2 rows had 7 seats and next 2 had 8 seats, each seat had 2 students, Maan was roll number 36 and he was sitting in 3rd row 4th seat with Lisa Fernandez, a beautiful blond from South Wales.
She took out her laptop and asked roll number 1 to come up with the presentation, during the whole process Maan did not as much as glanced her he ignored her through and through and she did the same, as his roll number approached her heart beats increased, though he looked calm and composed to her.
He started with his presentation, she was lost in his voice and remembered all the days he had whispered in her ears, it was nice that she was recording the presentation, as the presentation ended she turned to the class "any one has any questions?" she asked. "ok Mr. Khurana you may take your seat" she completely forgot that he was enrolled as Mr. Singh but who paid attention the class hardly knew each other. As the last presentation ended she sighed it was very difficult for her to remain in the same room with him though he was no where near her, she could feel him in the air. Same was his condition after last night's episode he had decided to avoid her and treat her only as his teacher but it was becoming hard for him, her slightest movement caused him a pound of his will power, all he wanted was to show her what he meant to her, he will prove that she is wrong, its not only he who is dying for her touch but it was also she who wants to come in her arms.
Week went by their ignoring each other, they hardly talked Maan by now has become a favorite student, he no doubt was intelligent and sharp, he talked to all teachers except Geet, and whenever it was unavoidable as during class discussions he would call her Madam or Ms. Handa with a hint of distaste in his voice, the distaste was as he wanted to call her by her first name but she thought that finally he was finished with her and now he hated her
Month went by she was becoming paler by each passing day, she hated herself for breaking her dream, she would curse herself Geet yes he would have left you some day but till then he would have been with you and you made the day in far future come to you so soon, she would cry, she would skip meals, she was a wreck by the end of May.
Julie noted that the otherwise smiling Geet has become so serious, she also noted her haphazard ways of working even her missing meals. One day when Geet had gone to some seminar she went to Maan's flat.
