In his present dilemma, his past has come back as a source of comfort. Reportedly, his speculated ex flame, Tabu, his Mumtaz from Chandni Bar, has lent the filmmaker a shoulder to cry on.
On Friday night, after ten years, the actress was spotted visiting Bhandarkar, at his Kakkad Enclave residence, in Khar, at 8.45 in the evening. The two worked together in Chandni Bar (2001), which sparked rumours of a romantic liaison between the two. In fact, the filmmaker was eager to make a sequel to the film with his leading lady.
Cut to 2011, and the lady is back in the filmmaker's life. A source revealed what transpired between the two when Tabu landed at Bhandarkar's home on Friday night. "Tabu tried to console him and cheer him up. Bhandarkar has been in a rather lousy mood since Ash left his project midway. The film Heroine cost him a lot of time and money. And so, Tabu advised Madhur to start afresh," said the source.
Added the source, "Moreover, let us not forget that Kareena had refused Heroine, and by the time Aishwarya signed up for the lead, a lot of time had been consumed."
Having given the filmmaker some much required moral support, Tabu left his residence at 10.30 pm. "Tabu and Madhur have been really close friends. Madhur was very grateful for Tabu's visit," said a source.
However, will Madhur be able to start afresh with Heroine, still remains a question left to be answered. "UTV has issued orders to stop the other shoots as well. The ones that do not require the lead heroine Aishwarya. Whether to still keep the project afloat is a decision that UTV and Madhur Bhandarkar, the co-producers have to take," informed a source.
