Chapter 70

"Maan, I wasn't done talking to Naintara," complained Geet as Maan pulled her down the hallway, away from the kitchen.
"Yes, you were. If we don't leave now, we'll never make it for our dance session on time."
"Don't be silly. It only takes a little more than an hour to get to Naperville. We have plenty of time. Let go of my hand. I want to talk to Naintara about lunch."
"Not happening."
"Maan, why are you being so stub..."
Geet was abruptly silenced by Maan's fierce kiss as he pulled her roughly inside the garage and into his arms. All Geet's thoughts fled as he plundered her mouth with his tongue in a passionate exploration that eclipsed any of their previous kisses. The only things keeping Geet upright, were her hands that had fisted reflexively into Maan's shirt, and his strong grip around her waist.
They were both so close it would be hard for air to pass between them, yet it wasn't close enough for Maan. Within moments he had Geet backed up against the garage wall, without even realizing he had done so. Geet was equally unaware of her actions, her hands sliding up the back of Maan's neck and into his hair.
When he finally broke the kiss due to the need to breath, he also answered Geet's unfinished question. "Five days. Five days since I've been able to kiss you properly, and you wonder why I'm being so stubborn?"
"Well, if you're so deprived, then why did you stop?" asked Geet as she pulled his head back the few inches necessary to make his lips reachable.
They continued to show one another how much they had missed being this close the past few days. Eventually Maan moved from kissing Geet's lips to trailing light kisses along her jawline. When he neared her neck, Geet arch invitingly, allowing him access to her smooth skin.
"It's your own fault, you know," said Maan, in a slightly disjointed continuation of the conversation.
"How is that?"
"You never have time for me any more."
"Maan, how is it my fault, if...if...uh...if Dadi keeps me busy with wedding details." As Maan continued to tease her sensitive flesh, Geet found it increasingly difficult to maintain a coherent thought process.
"Who are you marrying, me or Dadi? Keeping your fiance happy should be your number one priority."
"Priority?" stuttered Geet, gasping in shock and pleasure as Maan gently nipped the skin above her collar bone, before kissing and sucking the spot as though she was the most delicious thing he had ever tasted.
"These dance lessons are the first opportunity we've had to be alone for days," he complained, his lips moving tantalizingly against her shoulder, "and it's no thanks to you."
At Maan's mention of the dancing lessons, Geet suddenly remembered what they were supposed to be doing. Pushing Maan away, she yelled, "Dance lessons! Maan, what time is it? We need to get going, or we will be late."
"Maybe now I don't mind being late," said Maan with a smirk, trying to take her back in his arms.
""Maan, stop it. We don't have time to fool around. I didn't mean that like it sounded," she said, as he grinned over her choice of words. "Stop smiling at me like an idiot and get in the car!"

"GT, Tayi told me that Taya and Harsh are coming on Saturday. Can Harsh and I go see the lions at the zoo?"
Geet smiled at JD's question. He always had a one track mind. Maan saw the smile and asked about it. Geet just shook her head.
"Yes JD, you and Harsh can go see the lions. Tayi and I will talk about it. Are you being good for Dadi?"
"Yes, GT, but she's busy with Meenal. I'm going to go outside and play with Stella. Dadi said I could, but Nakul has to go with me."
"That's good. Make sure you...Hey Maan, what...?"
Maan had grabbed Geet's phone and started talking to JD. "Hey JD, GT is going to have stop talking to you now. You remember that we have to do some practice dancing for the wedding right?"
"I remember, Uncle."
"Okay, well that's what we're going to do right now. GT and I will talk to you later. Bye." Geet had tried to get her phone back from Maan, but he held it away from her in his left hand. When he ended the call with JD, he then put the phone in his left pocket.
"Maan! How could you do that? JD is all alone at home!"
"Geet, JD is not all alone at home."
"Well, but with Di gone to the airport to get Arjun, and Dadi looking after Meenal, it's like he is."
"Geet, we're getting married in less than month. You should be concentrating on me, not calling JD up every five minutes." To emphasize his point, Maan grabbed Geet's hand and pulled her over to him as close as he could.
"Maan, what are you doing? Maan, let go of me. You're gonna crash us if you don't let go!"
"Don't get so upset, I've got everything under control," Maan reassured her, giving her hand a quick kiss.
"You just won't stop your naughtiness, will you," said Geet, pulling her hand out of his and shifting back to her side of the car.
As she turned to look out her window, something in the passenger side mirror caught her attention. "What is that!" she yelped, looking at herself in the passenger side's vanity mirror.
"What is what," said Maan, glancing her way and trying to see the problem, without swerving the car.
"What is that?" Geet repeated, looking at her neck in horror. It wasn't that she didn't know what the large red mark on her skin was, or how it had come to be there. She just couldn't vent her feelings any other way.
"You! You did this to me!" When Geet turned towards Maan and pointed angrily at the blotch on her neck, Maan finally saw what had upset her so.
"Well? Say something!" ordered Geet, rubbing the bruise like mark on her neck, as if that would make it disappear.
"What can I say? If I tell you how good it feels to see a mark that I left on you, you're sure to complain."
"Maan, this isn't funny! I can't go around with this thing. This is all your fault!"
"Geet you're always blaming me for everything. It's not my fault, it's your fault. You just look so cute in that workout outfit, I can't resist."
"Maan, stop teasing me. I'm so mortified. Thank God no one at home saw this. If only I had some foundation to cover it with. Hey, isn't that a Walgreens? Maan pull off at the next exit. I want to stop there. Oh, and since I didn't bring any money, and this is all your fault, you can just give me your card."
"But Geet, I thought you didn't want to be late for our dance lesson."
"Just shut up and take the next exit!"

"Arjun, thank you so much for coming. This really means a lot to me."
"Naintara, we're family. You don't say thank you to your family. I'm just glad I was able to get off from work to be here."
"Arjun, are you sure you won't stay at the mansion. Dadi assured me that there's no problem.
"Under the circumstances, I think it would be too awkward. It's better if I stay at a hotel. In fact, I'd like to drop my stuff off there quickly, before we head out to see Chachi." Arjun caught the grimace that Naintara gave at the end, and quickly asked her about it.
"Actually, Arjun, I can't go with you to see Maa. Dadi's home watching Meenal and JD, and I really need to get back."
"Why? Isn't your future bhabhi there?"
"No. Geet and Maan Veerji have gone for some dance lessons and a choreography session for the upcoming wedding. They'll be gone for quite a few hours, and JD is such an energetic little thing, that Dadi really needs someone else there with her."
"I see."

"Well, this day just keeps turning out better and better," commented Maan, as he took Geet into his arms and started swaying with her to the music.
"I can see that naughty gleam in your eye, Mr. Khurana. Don't you be getting any ideas. Isha told us to loosen up and get into the dancing mood, not have a make out session."
"Did I say anything like that?" asked Maan cheekily as he spun Geet around and lowered her into a dip.
"No, but I could see you thinking it. It's good I was able to use the concealer I bought on my neck, otherwise I don't know what Isha would think of us. She might come back anytime, so behave."
June 8, 2011 10:15 am
"Is that the couple you're doing the choreography for?"
"Yes. I wanted to observe them dancing freely to see what I have to work with."
"They're both quite good. But I still think you're going to find working with them difficult."
"Why do you say that?"
"Do you see the way he is looking at her? If they're able to concentrate on anything you say, instead of staring into each other's eyes, I'll be surprised."
