Jai’s Attitude / Bani’s Acceptance - Q&A!

After reading a multitude of posts, I can understand why a lot of people still sympathize with Jai's attitude towards Bani! Actually, to be honest, even I do! What I really fail to understand is Bani's acceptance of everything in a resigned silence!😕

Jai is someone who is immensely successful, rich beyond imagination, extremely powerful, well respected, admired and cherished by everyone around him....yet, he is basically someone who is totally insecure about his own self! I remember a scene Mohan asks Jai that how could he fall so deeply in love with a girl whom he barely knew (referring to Pia) and Jai answers back that Pia gave him a new confidence that he never had, the Confidence to love someone...and then when she went out of his life, she took that confidence along with her forever!

Also, in the Friday episode, Roshni mentions to Jigyasa that Jai has always been a very insecure man, especially so in love! Now, Roshni is one female who seems to know Jai extremely well and hence she makes a telling point that Jai is very insecure in love!

More than anything, it is Jai's insecurity that is showing in his attitude and behaviour towards Bani! As Aditya so wonderfully puts across, that if Jai wanted he could have very well divorced Bani and let her live in peace and he could have also lived peacefully, but Jai did not let go of Bani, that could only mean that, unknowingly, Jai has come to become attached to Bani and given time, their relationship has ever chance to succeed! Infact Aditya is so sincere in what he says, that Roshni is rattled to hear it, in the sense that she realizes what Aditya is saying is true! Maybe that was the reason, that Roshni feels bad for Bani when Jai screams on her infront of Roshni!

Bani on the other hand has had a life totally contrary to Jai's privliged existence. Bani unlike Jai has faced poverty, deprivation, hardships and ultimately lonliness! Despite all this, Bani is someone who is basically a very secure person, someone who has complete faith in herself, in her ability to love unconditionally and someone who can move mountains to make her relationships work! Unlike Jai, who needs constant assurance from his loved ones that they love him and are always there for him, Bani is someone who can love with an other-wordly selflessness, someone who will love without any pre-conditions, without any doubts and most importantly without anyone loving her back!👏

Hence, the clash in their attitudes result in Jai constantly yelling and putting down Bani and she in turn accepting everything with a monk like silence! Jai is undoubtedly falling in love with Bani, and falling in love with such depth and passion, that it scares the living daylights out of him! Just imagine, someone in his position, someone who has had a total of three relationships in his life (Roshni, Sonali and Pia) by the age of 40 and someone who has failed miserably in all of them! How much it would bring down a person's self-esteem and deflate his confidence! We don't know what transpired between Jai and Roshni, but in the end, their relationship could not work out, the same case happened with Sonali, Jai simply couldn't bring himself to fall in love with a woman who would have been an ideal soulmate to him and then the disaster called Pia happened in his life and it happened in the most public and humiliating way, totally razing Jai's masculinity, his sense of self, his confidence and his self-esteem to dust!

It would be so difficult for a man who has undergone three diastrous relationship to embark on a new one....with a girl whom he had never imagined in his wildest dreams, with a girl whom he was forced to marry, with a girl who's own sister has destroyed him....and what is really bugging Jai is that despite all that happened, he is still falling in love with Bani and he just doesn't want that to happen! Hence, the iron masking around him....Else, why would Jai crumple down looking guilty as hell when Bani has left his Office, else why would he give her those soft, affectionate looks when he assumes she is sleeping, else why would he just let go of himself and enjoy a light moment of flirtatious bantering with her, else why would he thunder and scream about taking revenge and then let Bani go without any conditions....it can only be love!

Now after my long, long post, here are some short, short questions:

What is your general perception of Roshni Chopra till now? Is she a negative person or a positive woman?

What do you think was the "important and urgent" thing that Jai wanted to tell Roshni about? Please note, that Jai looked desperate to say this to Roshni, as if he wanted to clear something off for ever, but at that very moment, Bani comes in upsetting his plans and hence, he immediately loses his temper!

What could possibly be the "mysterious" relationship Roshni shares with Jai?

Do you think that Roshni has come to get Jai back in her life or has she come back to settle scores with someone (It could be either Jai himself or Jigyasa) or has she come back to save Jai's marriage with Bani and redeem herself for some wrong she must have done to Jai years back?

Do you think Bani was more hurt about the fact that Jai shouted on her infront of Roshni or was she more hurt about the fact that Jai asked Roshni out to Lunch infront of Bani?

Do you think Jai's attitude towards Bani suggests nothing but plain and simple irritation and hatred towards his wife or is it a bad attempt to hide his true feelings of a growing love towards Bani?

Do you think what Aditya commented on Jai and Bani's relationship to Roshni is true? Has Jai really come to become attached to Bani or is it just Aditya's wishful thinking?

When Jai and Roshni are in Goa and Bani away in Mount Abu and Mausi comes over to Goa, what do you think will be a possible scenario? Do you think that Jai will have a last minute change of heart and mind and he will quitely fly off to Mount Abu to get Bani back?

Do you think that whenever the truth of Jai and Roshni's relationship will come out in the open, will that change Jai and Bani's relationship for good or for bad (It can't be possibly worse than it already is)

Do you think jai might be doing all this to Bani because he sees himself getting close to her. I mean the women that stepped in his life, always left him hanging and where as bani is another woman in his life, probably he is just not ready for himself to give in to bani's affection.

Is he probably scared that bani will leave him too like other women did in some ways!! Also that, probably he takes the anger out on bani, to actually console himself, that he will not get close to her by any means. So basically is he in denial!! Because of his past relationships, he is not able to proceed to the relationship with bani and he again and again tells his heart actually not to give in bani's affection!! Hey Komu! Well, if you read my whole Ram Kahani that I have typed before the questions, you will find the answers! Yes ofcourse, Jai is behaving in this obnoxious manner because he is becoming attached to Bani, I won't use the word love here, only a deep attachment as of now which will ultimately lead to love!

Since, the man has had his ample share of disastrous relationships, the last thing he wants is another one! See, if he was really being a meany to her, then why look so terribly guilty when Bani is not around, why give her those sheep-eyed looks when she is sleeping....why eat the food she got so lovingly after she has left....

Jai is in a major self-denial mode....something on the lines of Bani, she is also in self-denial, but being a woman, she finds it difficult to keep her true feelings to herself, but Jai is a man, and he can hide his feelings under a mask of cold indifference and rudeness!

The most telling part about Jai's true feelings are that he very rudely tells Roshni that he is no interested in having Lunch with her outside, but as soon as Bani enters, he changes his tone and tells Roshni that they will have food outside and then when Bani leaves, he ignores Roshni again and proceeds to have the same food that Bani got for him!

yeah I agree with you... think his insecurity also stems from being rich...and never knowing what the motive of the person is. Rich people tend to be insecure that way. Also Jai I think is a very senstive person so it is harder for him...

Hi Raksha,

To answer your question, Jai will ask Bani to go to Mount Abut till he gets his work finished in Goa...and Bani will do as he wishes!

Jai doesn't want to spend the day in Goa with Bani but at the same time doesn't want Bani to go back to Walia House because of Mausi's presence...hence, he takes a middle path and packs off Bani to her hometown while he finishes off his business in Goa!

But Mausi being our Meddling little aunt, will land up in Goa to check on her Munna and Bahu....and Roshni will also come there to try and rekindle her lost romance with Jai....

Hmm this is hard to say!! I mean sometimes if feels like she is negative and sometimes i think she might actually be a positive character. She does feel sympathy towards bani though, but then again, at this stage, it is hard to recognize her character!

What could possibly be the "mysterious" relationship Roshni shares with Jai?

Mysterious!! sometimes i think that probably she was going to be jai's child mother!! I mean it can be anything!! but this what comes to my mind!! That's why jai probably agreed to marry her, and she might have abort the child, because if you looks at her, she is a very head strong woman and with a whole new professional look!! Not saying that all professional women are ambitious, but just an opinion!! So ya she might have aborted the child (probably jigz forcing her) and later he came to know about it and he i guess refused to marry her--- ya one big prediction of mine which hardly have any chances of coming true 😆 😆

Again, very hard to predict! I won't be able to tell this one after i get to see how does she react towards bani and jai!! She might be here to settle scores with jigyasa!! Because as said in one of the articles, jigyasa was the one to ruin her life!! I think!! And i mean all the sudden she will listen to jigyasa and come back to india right away!! I guess she was waiting for this moment for a long time!!

Ahh now that's something to think about!! Ya i think she was upset that he actually agree to do lunch with roshni! Because jai has yelled at her so many times infront of other people, and she didn't seem to care, but this time she actually cried!! That too she hardly knows roshni, so i don't think she'll feel bad about jai yelling at her infront of roshni!! Jai does that infront of jigz too!! Bani never seem to mind i guess!

O now this one, i would say he is bad hiding his feelings!! like i said in the recent post, i think he is just trying to tell himself that he won't fall for bani!! Because probably he thinks, that like roshni and pia, bani also will hurt jai; so he just takes the anger out on her, telling himselt that he won't fall for bani's affection!!

No, sometimes what aditya comments is right!! Even i feel that jai is becoming attached to bani, but i guess he doesn't want to admit it!! And to think about it, why did the director only gave the dialouge to aditya lolzz; so ya i think aditya is right in some perspective!! and what he said, mightttt be true!!

If mausi comes to find out about jai and bani being in different places, mausi will be heart broken. And specially seeing roshni there, she'll be really upset! Cuz i guess she knows about jai's and roshni's past relationship!! Jai will go get bani, i think to save his neck!! lolzzz.. I'm not sure about the change of heart! because if it was in the first place, he wouldn't have let bani go to Mt. Abu!!

Bani, if she does finds out, she probably will try to tell herself that she doesn't care (which she does) and try to keep away from this issue!! But i don't know, sometimes i feel that it might hurt jai, if bani finds out about his and roshni's relationship!! If mausi finds out that bani knows everything, then i think mausi will stay back longer until everything is right, and jai and bani will have to pretend more. Probably by that stage, jai might start showing his good side to bani!!

Roshni may have started out in a negative way based on the background given by Jigs. She must have thought that there would be some kind of 'cat fight' with Bani. Then she sees Bani who is a bheegi billi in front of Jai and his attitude towards towards her and how scared Bani is. She may change her mind and not want to fight an unfair battle. She may think over Aditya's words and decide to turn on Jigs and play a role in bringing these 2 together.

What can the dark past be? Maybe Roshni got pregnant because of the relationship and they decided to get married. Jigs brainwashed Roshni that a having a child would ruin her career/life etc. and Roshni was scared and aborted the child without Jai's knowledge. Jigs took advantage of this and parted them. And now Jai still blames her for this. I am just presuming all this because we are all so confused about the dark past. I have not even seen what the character of Roshni looks like. Just putting thoughts into words.(I have put this in another post also.)

Hard to say what information she was given by Jigs and what her agenda is.

She is used to Jai shouting at her in front of other people so I think she was more hurt about the fact that Jai asked Roshni out to lunch in front of her!

He is definitely not indifferent to her and right now I think he is in a pendulum mode between irritation and hiding his true feelings. He definitely does not hate her.

Yes, out Mr. Walia has definitely become attached to Bani and is very used to having her around. He will be completely lost without her.

Jai and go after Bani? Impossible! If he does have a last minute change of heart and mind (highly unlikely) he will call her up and order her to come to Goa by making up some excuse.

If Bani stays true to her character she will accept whatever the situation is without being judgmental about it or asking any questions. She will continue to stay by his side and this will give Jai his confidence and security back which he so badly needs. He will understand what true love really is. The outcome of this situation (Jai/Roshni) and Bani's reaction to it will either make or break their relationship.

But serioulsly guys, your answers are very good....they keep driving me to ask you more & more questions!

I have put my thoughts in another post, to repeat myself, I think that Jai and Roshni were married once upon a time...and because of some contrived circumstances by Jigyasa and the Ego problems between Jai and Roshni, the marriage must have got annuled...and Jai (or rather his family) must have given cartloads of money to Roshni to move out of Jai's life forever and keep quiet about whatever happened! It just cannot be a child, that would be completely anti-ethical to Jai's character!

Swathi, loved your last answer...yes, Bani being Bani will accept Jai without any judgement on his character...and that will make Jai realize what love is all about!

Btw, Pinky, your answers completley made sense buddy!
