You're better then the best
I'm lucky just to linger in your light Completely unaware
Nothing can compare to where
You send me, lets me know that it's okay
And the moments where my good times start to fade
You make me smile
Don't know how I lived without you
'Cause every time that I get around you
I see the best of me inside your eyes
You make me smile
DISCLAIMER: I'm in a little sob mood today, from the absence of Mohan - but hey, i know how much the AN fans are celebrating, and how long (and impatiently) they've waited! So this post is exclusively, for the exclusive coverage given to the show's leads - Anant and Navya!
I used those lyrics from the Uncle Kracker soundtrack above, because there was that point in the AN scene, when they both smiled at each other in that heartwarming way - I could only only only hear the song play inside of my head, sigh!
Some of you might be disappointed (please don't be offended though) but I still don't give AN (the actors) a 10/10 even for this much awaited historic-scene-to-be in the making of Navya. But...wait a moment! I have to admit, and without hesitance, they need to do more and more, and more scenes where the leads actors smile.
Am I the only one, on that note, who loves the free girl full flash smile Navya gives at the end of the title song?! I know the track has its share of twists, but we really need some scenes where these two are happy and smiling, if but momentarily, as saving grace.
Just like today. It wasn't a perfect day for them, or perfect occasion, much less the happy kind. Still, what was special about the AN scene today was how comfortable they were with each other, how direly they had been in need of this easy way of coexisting, that both of them couldn't help but let go of every alter thought on their mind for just a couple minutes that they were granted, and make the best out of them. Starting from Anant's first words in two days (as Nimi pointed out) to the natural way in which Navya assumed the care-taking role around him, handing him water when Nimi was still there (that was so cool and aww 😆) to the Anant asking how she was even standing there - jahan chidiya bhi parr nahi maar sakti 😆 and Navya asking where he had disappeared to and both of them answering with a fir kabhi bataunga/gi ... there was that bonding between them it just flowed, from one line to the next, from one gesture to the next. What I especially liked about the tell you later dialog I mentioned btw, was how there was this innate promise from both sides (consciously or subconsciously) of there being a next time. *sigh*. They were two teens today, not madly senselessly in love, but two teens who had in the circumstance of opposition to their blooming bond had matured at some exponential rate enough to just relish and grab at whatever little they could get their hands on. They were content being there beside each other, behaving normally like nothing was wrong, and just dwelling and reveling in the transient normalcy of the moment, even if the danger looming right over their heads was many dimensional and deeply grave.
Basically - they made each other smile. Not just smile in expression of the face, but smile with all their being. It didn't need for them to echo loud a free willed laughter - just that subtle genuine display of mutually shared smile, and it warmed both of them, and all of us! I thought for one of the rarest times on this show, that I could actually rewind and watch that scene a few times over! (Note to CVs - again - please give them more smiling scenes?! Pretty please?!)
And no, I can't sign off this post without referring to the *drum rolls* so long awaited C.O.N.F.E.S.S.I.O.N. !!!
Again, Soumya's braked reactions almost spoiled a part of it for me - but both Anant, and Shaheer, were fantabulous! Special shout out to the emphasis on his lingering smile, even as she shed a few tears, looked shocked and appalled and was greatly at a loss of any better reaction for us to guess whether she was even remotely happy, or had reverted back to her mortification of love can't be allowed to happen here! [I admit I felt just a little cheated, because the promos had shown a hint of smile on her face - but I'll continue to be hopeful, and assume that will come tomorrow, before looney house inmates break into Anant's jail-house-rock 🥱 gate crashing the precious moment of our leads! ] But without digressing to far from my point, I really likes Anant's persistent and sure smile when he confessed. It spoke volumes for me, which a billion words could not have. It assured me that he was finally and fully sure of himself. That his resolve had finally happened. That the answers he'd tried to seek out of her in vain, the answers he'd spent a week's nights brooding over, the answers he knew but couldn't see - have finally settled for him - and now nothing anyone says (and anyone here includes Navya) can deter him from what his mind has resolved. There was a faith in his smile, a peace and calm - in finally knowing what he was doing, why he was doing it, that it was right for him, and that he would fight for it no matter what!
And that pretty much sums up the episode for me. In the absence of Mohan, I didn't care about much else - yes, there was Nimisha, and I don't want to ignore her, but she isn't and can't be Mohan for me - not taking her credit away though, the character and actor both are good.
And can I possibly finish by being oh-so-in-anticipation about the precap?! Like Woh-hooo! Bring it on baby! 😎 I like this new Anant - the way he's risen from his fever, all charged, makes me think of him as a phoenix! The old wary dying form is gone, and replaced by an energetic and much better new!
And I better not ramble more. Sorry if my post today is far less coherent than usual. It's one of my unadulterated rambling moments. Bear with it?! - and ramble along! 🥳
