Chapter 32 – Wedding

Wedding Day

Geet was trying to calm harried Pinky. She nervously asked nibbling on a piece of chocolate– "Main kaisi lag rahi hoon?"

"Achi lag rahi hai par ab ise band kar nahin to saara Lipper kharab ho jayega" replied Geet snatching away the chocolate.

Pinky pouted her lips.

"Waise bhi…I just hope bechare Adi ko chocolate pasand ho"

"Kyon…use thode hi khaani hai? Main share nahin karne waali" said possessive Pinky (ab yeh ladki kiske liye possessive hai, God only knows)

"Nahin par jab tujhe kiss karega to aur koi flavor thode hi milna hai use"

Pinky blushed hard "tu ruk Geet ki bachi…meri bhi baari aayegi na tab chun chunke badla loongi"

"haan haan le lena…bas ek kami rah gayi hai"

"kya"

Geet placed a beautiful purple orchid on the side of her hair with the pin. "Ho gaya…ab dekhoon to zara"

Pinky was dressed in a mauve color chiffon lehnga with heavy silver work She looked beautiful with diamond jewelry adorning her. Her mehndi clad hands were decorated with chuda. Geet fixed her dupata to cover head partially and slipped her hand into hers to give her confidence.

They went down together the stairs towards the mandap where all the guests awaited for Pinky.

Adi was dressed in beige and maroon sherwani whereas Maan was wearing a black jacket. Adi was already sitting at the mandap and Maan stood just behind him. They both glanced at the stairs to look at the bride coming down gently. Everybody gazed and murmured appreciation for the beautiful bride. But Maan stood dumbstruck looking at Geet. He could not tear his gaze away from the beauty clad in a red saree. He sighed "Sarees always do something to her…she just looks so damn hot and sexy."

Pinky's dad took Pinky and made her sit next to Adi. Maan held Geet's hand as they stood behind their best friend. They both looked at each other and got lost in each others eyes. Maan gently caressed her palm with his thumb. He so wanted to tell her how he felt for her. He felt his breath constricting looking into those beautiful eyes. He wanted to pour his heart out, engulf her inside himself so that he could feel her. Geet also looked at him reading those emotions bursting out of his eyes. Her soul felt touched and her heart sang with what she saw.

Amidst friends and family, ceremony started. They completed saat pheras promising each other a lifetime and beyond full of love, happiness, support and trust. Maan had attended few weddings before but for the first time each phera, each promise held new meaning for him. Still holding Geet's hand, he understood their meanings for the first time. For the first time, he wanted to make the same promises to the beautiful girl standing next to him.

Last few weeks had been very hectic. Being the closest friends of groom and bride they remained very busy in getting things ready for the marriage and hardly got any chance to meet each other. On top of it Maan had to travel to Holland for a scheduled visit. Everyday their feelings for each other were getting more and more strong and brimming to the point where it was becoming difficult for them to hide it from each other.

Even if they met they were surrounded by so many people that nothing more than some stolen glances were possible. All this distance had put fuel to the already raging fire and they both felt they will simply burst out.

Finally Adi put sindoor in Pinky's forehead parting. He then took the mangalsutra and tied behind her neck. Everybody showered the new couple with flower petals while they took rounds to touch the feet of elders taking the blessings for their new married life.

One week later

(Guys this part is inspired slightly by movie "When Harry met Sally")

Geet sat in her bed trying to get her head around what her heart was trying to say. She has been totally miserable and had been missing Maan. She knew that it was nobody's fault as both were involved in day to day activities but she felt really lonely especially today. Maan has gone to Mumbai for some conference and she had not seen him since yesterday night. On top of it, Pinky was also not there as she was still one her honeymoon.

She just couldn't take it any more. Every time she closed her eyes she saw Maan's face with different emotions - smiling, frowning, laughing, serious, anger. Past moments flashed in front of her eyes like a movie. She finally got up to find Rahul and Pari but suddenly stopped short. Damn!!! It was 12:30 in the night and she could not disturb them at this hour. There was nobody to hear her. Tears threatened on her eyes. Throwing winds to caution she finally called up Pinky (Poor girl is on her honeymoon and gets a call 8:00 in the night as they are in Europe)

"Hello" said a panting pinky. She would not have picked up the phone if it was not from Geet. Adi rubbed his hands on her naked skin under the sheet and Pinky stifled a moan

"Hi Pinky"

Pinky suddenly sat clutching the sheets at the sobbing voice of geet.

"Kya hua Geet, tu ro kyon rahi hai ?"

Adi frowned as that put a stop to what ever he was doing to Pinky. Meanwhile his mobile rang and it was from Maan. He picked up the phone and started to talk to Maan from other side of the bed.

"Hello Maan"

"Hi yaar…sorry if I am disturbing you"

Adi felt Maan's desolate voice and knew something was up "Kya hua Maan"

(Guys please picturise this in your head. Pinky and Adi are in bed na***. Pinky is talking to Geet and Adi is talking Man at the same time.)

Geet –"I know now"

Pinky – "kya?"

Geet –"I am in love"

Pinky – "what!!! and why the hell are you crying?"

Geet – "Because I don't know if he loves me or not. I have fallen for the guy who is famous, handsome and with girls after him like crazy. He probably thinks of me as a friend only and I can not tell him how I feel"

Adi - "Yeh log kitne paagal hain…dono ek dusre ko chate hain but ek dusre ko bolne ki bajai mera honeymoon kharab kar rahein hai"

Pinky - "I swear…chalo ab wapis jaake donon ki naiya paar lagani padegi"

Geet felt slightly better after talking to Pinky and finally slept thinking about Maan

Maan took another bear and slept drunk hugging and kissing the pillow again (Poor pillow…sigh!!!!)

Adi and Pinky…well they still are on honeymoon and night is still young
