WOMEN and Serials!!!

Hey guys

How are you all doing? As I was watching Kasamh Se last night, with my parents, I remembered when my dad had asked about why only women are watching TV serials!

I was perplexed myself when I realized that this was so true. Why is it that the majority is only of women who watch The serials. Why is it not that as much number of men are not watching such TV serials.

I can say for myself and maybe many others too that TV serials provide an experience of turmoil of emotions, varying from heart breaking to heart winning, from sad to enthralling, and from enraging to completely melting. This is one reason that I watch a tv serial. However, there are also reasons that I have prevented myself from watching many other TV serials. They not only are impractical but also extremely unrealistic. It is often found that they only show negative aspect of the lives of the charachters.

so please let me know what you guys think.

Is it that we are overly obsessed with tv serials or is it that men are simply not interested in the mushy stuff other than what takes place in their personal lives!!!!!!

I guess Men just want to stay "away" from drama. I really don't know because my dad always watches serials, not every single one of them since he works but he watches them. Btw, he loves watching Kasam Se. But my grandpa on the other side does not watch serials, he calls it "bakwas" lol 😆 The only thing he actually enjoys watching is the news. HOW BORING. My grandma watches Indian Serials 24/7. She can sit in front of the tv for 6 hours straight. I swear. I think women tend to understand "serial" situations than men do, since women have gone through this type of scenarios before. hmmm I really don't know. I might be wrong.

As far as i know i have seen men watching soaps. U know wat they do they just pretend that they dont like it but they wud sit wid u and watch it. 😉 Even though while watchin they wud complain like million of times they wont bother to get out of the room. 😆 If they r so bothered why dont they just go for a walk or somethin while we r watchin it. But no they have sit there, they have to watch and they have to complain. 😆 😆 😆

They r just Hypocrites!! So dont bother. They likes soaps but they wud neva admit it. 😆 😆 😆

Anyways... as fooglez said, there ARE many men who still do watch TV serials but majority of them DO NOT!

I guess it may be a guy thing to not watch The serials but it can also be that guys have to maintain the composure of their image due to them having been considered better than women! I TOTALLY disagree with the misunderstanding.....but as I have just said, although men and women are considered equal, there is always going to be a difference between them!!!!

Please tell me what you think as I am utterly confused!!!!!

I believe that the soaps have nothing to do with women and men. it is just who has more availability of t.v. and has some time. my mom does not like to watch tv because, she is always busy with her chores and can not sit still for half hour at a time. dad on the other hand can watch tv after returning from work. boy, is he hooked on these serials. i also have hard time keeping up with job,kids,dinner and keeping up with tv, so i am hooked on to the form after family's in the bed. serials are enjoyed by all ,just that some are reluctant to acept it.

it is very true they want to watch but they ppretend like we are bothering them by watching seriels but theya re always intrested what happen in that one and those ones 😆 😆

My hubby thinks I am silly to watch the serials and he hates it 😃 But I have my Mum in law's sahara 😉 and we gang up againts him and he really gets upset!!!! anyway serials to us ladies maybe like football to some men and news ladies ur hubbies are going to be glued to the TV set really soon 😭 WORLD CUP 2006

I guess the reason why Women are portrayed as the protogonists in most serials is because the majority of viewers are women! Well if we get down to actual statistics, we would know that since a lot of women are housewives and most men work, the majority of person staying at home watching serials would obviously be women!

On the other hand, women are by nature, sensitive and perceptive, they are emotional beings essentially...and the drama depicted on scene kind of connects with them instantly!

I personally think that few men watch soaps, like for instance, I had never seen my Father ever watching a single thing on TV except for News and Cricket Matches, my Brother only watches those horrid WWF Matches which come on Ten Sports 😡 and my poor husband never gets the remote in his hand, so I guess he doesn't have a choice! 😆 My son is too young to have a choice....but overall, I think that few men watch soaps as compared to women...some because they think it is whiny to watch women simpering and crying on television and some because they just cannot connect to what is being shown on television!

Also, one reason of watching serials is also the fun of discussing them with your friends and co-workers...now can you ever imagine two men standing at the Water fountain in their Office and discussing whether Tulsi should stay with Mihir or divorce him! 😕 But when I was working, most of my lunch breaks used to be spent discussing how hot Angad looks in his Goatee or how Dr. Simran puts up with that jerk Abhimanyu!

See even in our Forum, the majority of members are the fairer sex....there are just one or two male members....hey, one of them got pretty offended when I had made a sexist statement on men....Lolz...I had no idea that there were men here, else I wouldn't have done my bit of male-bashing!

Ok, I think I am again wavering from the main topic, but yeah, I personally think that Women are the primary watchers of Soaps ect and not men! 😊

me and my mom just love indian and pakistani dramas!! haha!! and my dad always argues with over these serials!! he is more of a news person(and i'll be doing the same thing)!! but my mom takes control!! lolzzzz 😆 😆
