Here's a brief summary of the main events of SRA. Beginning from the point when Peehu decided to contest the G.S. Elactions. (I guess this is the point when Sahara One stopped its telecast to quite a few countries.)
Rishi informs Shikhar that Peehu is contesting the elections against him. Shaken, both of them go to Krish's home who slams the door on their faces and asks them not to come over there again. Rishi shouts that Peehu is standing for the G.S. elections and that they have come to enlist his help. Krish opens the door and contemptuosly asks Shikhar that how come he is afraid of Peehu ? He says that he is no longer interested in helping them and again slams the door shut. Then he mutters to himself that he will not let Peehu win the elections. Peehu meanwhile is abt. to set for college when she finds Krish standing at the doorway. Brusquely she asks him his reason for coming as he is no longer welcome at her house. He tells her that he hasn't come to talk to her but to her mother. He goes across to her mother and asks her whether she knows her daughter is standing for elections. Peehu's mother is taken aback as she had no such idea. Peehu meanwhile turns on krish and tells him that she knows that he has just come to cause trouble but that she will not withdraw her name and further that he should just get out of her home. Krish, insulted, walks out. Peehu convinces her mother to let her contest the elections.
In college Lalit is putting up posters of Peehu when Shikhar and his friends enter. They do nothing except look at Lalit. But Lalit, who obvoiusly delights in taking pangas, walks up to them and asks them to stop indimidating people!!! At this point Peehu enters and tells them how Krish had come over to her house and threatened her not to contest the elections!! Rishi and Shikhar exchange a surprised glance as they had no idea that Krish might do something like this. Shikhar tells Peehu that it was not a threat but a piece of advice which she better heed.
Meanwhile in a parallel track, Lalit tells Prof. Kartik that Palak loves him and if he could only go and meet her, her condition will improve considewrably. Then it is revealed that Kartik is not only married but has a daughter too. However, he and his wife are separated as she wants to pursue a career in modelling. His maid 'Tai' (an interfering busybody) tells him that for the sake of his daughter he should patch-up with his wife. He does so but wife is not interested as she feels this will harm her career. at this stage Prof.Kartik starts thinking abt. Palak. (All this happens over a couple of episodes).
As Peehu's campaign gathers momentum, Avi suggests to Shikhar that he should throw a holi bash for the students & hence influence them to vote for him. Shikhar agrees, and even invites Peehu & her friends. Lalit asks him whether he is bribing the students and Shikhar counters this by saying that he never intented anything of that sort. That this was merely a fun-filled party and he challenges them to accept his invitation. Peehu promptly accepts the challenge.
Meanwhile a sullen Krish is shown sunk deep in thought, determined to go to Australia. His mother tries to dissuade him but his father who understands the trauma that he is undergoing says that he will make all the necessary arrangements for his departure. His mother finally tells him that,"There is nobody to look after and care for you over there." And Krish , anguish in his eyes and voice, asks her "Yahan bhi kaun hai?" Who is concerned abt. me even over here.When he says this he looks as though all his dreams have died young. ( Felt pretty wretched watching this scene. So much for the fabled friendship of Table 7. This is also Karan Rai's last appearence in the serial. When he returns after the jump, it is another actor who enacts this role. From then on his character touches new depths of depravity. And yet when lalit and Palak called him ghatia in the end, I not only felt like smashing their mouths, but also a great deal of pity for Krish)
At the holi bash, Shikhar tries to throw colour at Peehu, but she holds his hand and says that though she accepted the challenge & came to the party, she will not play holi with him. A humilliated Sh. looks at Avi, then without a word, goes away. Rishi, watching this scene, says with a note of admiration that all said and done, Pe has lots of guts. Looking at Ria's crestfallen face he asks her the reason for her sadness. She says that Krish is leaving all of them and going to Aus. And she doesn't want that to happen . That something ought to be done to stop him from going. Rishi asks her as to how she knows all this ansd she says that she rang up Krish and talked to him. Then realising that she has revealed something that she ought not to have, she mutters some excuses and tries to get away. But Rishi follows her and asks her as to why she called him up. And she mutters something like," Friends. Generally... You know. Just like that." then she asks him to forget abt. all this and dance with her...Meanwhile Lal. and Pe dance with one another as Soham looks on feeling left-out. Pe realises this and drags him to dance with her. Avi and Sh. manage to make Pe drink a juice which has some drug in it. A drowsy Pe makes her way out, stalked by certain boys sent by Sh carrying bottles with a coloured liquid. They encircle Pe and as they throw the liquid, Lalit comes rushing up, and the liquid falls on him. Pe passes out thinking that the liquid is acid. But it is just coloured water and the boys tell Lal that they were simply playing holi. Pe is taken to Soham's house where she recovers consciousness and both Lal & Soham pull her leg. As the trio leaves, Nitin's mother turns to Soham's father and both of them say , "Peehu for Soham" and burst out laughing.
All this time Peehu has also discovered that somehow Palak's father Kapil Mathur knows abt. her mother's past. Pe, with the help of Lal & Soham, unearths old newspaper reports, an old reporter and other assorted material and confronts Palak's father, and forces him to reveal the truth to her. It transpires that Kapil Mathur was earlier an editor of a journal and one of his reporters made a sensational discovery that Raj Kochhar (RK), a rising politician at that time was married twice. Once to Sh's mother and second to Maya Bhargav, Pe's mother. Kapil Mathur visited Maya Bhargav who was stunned to hear that her husband, RK was already married to someone else. The very same evening she commited suscide. RK came to KM's house and by threatening him forced him not only to supress the story but also to leave India for Australia, as had the scandal been revealed it would have finished his political career.
As KM narrates all this everybody is shocked. Pe, who looks as though her world has fallen apart, runs away to her home, recalling how RK had helped her, saved her life, and realising that she was his daughter. Meanwhile Rishi asks Sh why he hates Pe so much and Sh. replies that whanever he looks at Pe his blood begins to boil, but that Rishi will not understand this.
The next day are the G.S. elections. Prof. Kartik urges the students to go and cast their votes. He sees Lal and asks him abt. Pe. Lal tells him abt. the RK -Peehu relationship. Kartik is also shocked. Meanwhle Avi calls up Sh to come over as the result is abt. to be announced. RK is discussing his election strategy with his aides, when the watchmen announces that Pe wants to meet him. Sh . comes to his dad and says that he is going to the college as the results are to be announced. when his father doesn't say anything, he says, " Dad, wish me luck." and half-heartedly RK does so. As Sh is abt to leave, Pe enters. Sh is shocked to see her . He turns to his father and shouts, "What is she doing over here?" Then turning to Pe he asks her to leave as he might do anything to her. Pe replies "If DAD wants me to leave, I'll leave." Understanding that something is amiss, RK asks his aides to leave them alone. After they leave, Sh. turns to Pe and says, " What complaint against me is it this time?" Pe replies that she has no complaints against him but against Dad.
RK realising that Pe knows something now, asks Sh to leave as it is getting late but Pe says that Sh should stay and listen to this as this concerns him too. then she asks RK, "WHAT WAS UR. RELATIONSHIP WITH MY MOTHER, MAYA BHARGAV?"
As RK hears this, he almost collapses on the sofa. An utterly bewildered Sh first asks his dad, " What is she talking abt.?" and since he does not reply turns to Pe and says, "Why are u causing so much pain and grief to my dad? Aren't u satisfied causing pain to me only that now U must do the same to my dad?" Pe tells him that it is not she but he who has alwys caused pain and grief to heB, in the manner his father did to her mother. Sh (incredulity in evry word) " But why would my dad do anything to ur. mother? (And then angry)You are simply causing trouble. Now come with me.." As he tries to pull her along with him, RK speaks in a sephulcural voice: "MB was my wife." For a second both his kids turn into stone. Sh.moves first and asks him" What ? What did u say?"
RK( still in the same tone) "MB was my wife."
Sh (as though he cannot believe his ears ) "But my mother was ur. wife."
RK (in a steady voice) "MB was also my wife."
Sh (dumbfounded)" But how can this be?"
Pe (pouncing on it too) " Yes, this is what I want to know. When U were already married Why did U deceive my mother into marriage?"
RK (with a pained look and voice) Some questions do not have an ans. Pe. I loved ur. mother and so married her.
Sh (in a broken whisper)" And... And What abt. my mother?"
RK (with a complete lack of senstivity) "That was a compromise. Your grandfather forced me into that alliance becoz of some political benefit. In reality, I loved Maya. and the proof of that love is Pe
Shikhar looks as though something within him has died ...forever.
Pe: 'And now u must announce this to the entire world".
RK says that it is not possible as this would ruin his political standing. A disgusted Pe says that if this is the case than she too disowns all blood ties with him. A hurt Pe moves out. Sh makes a gesture to stop her but she rushes out. Sh remains fixed to the spot. RK takes a tentative step towards him and places his hands on his shoulders calling him softly. Sh turns to him in anger and anguish and shouts "Don't" and stalks off. RK is left all alone.
The results are announced. Lal and the other students cheer Pe's victory while Avi and Ria look sad. In the meantime a totally devastated Sh smashes things in his room. Repeatedly he remembers his father saying that the marriage to his mother was nothing but a compromise and that Pe was born out of love. While everything is shattering within him Avi calls up to say that he has lost the elections.
Lal goes over to Palak's house to see whether Pe is over there. As he informs Palak and her parents abt. Pe's victory, Pe comes in and they all congratulate her. but as she does not seem pleased they ask her the reason. She tells them abt her encounter with RK, and asks them all to support her in her fight for her mother's right. Then she goes to the college where Prof.Kartik tells her that she ought not to feel alienated from her adopted parents as "dil ke rishte are always stronger than khoon ke rishtey'.
Meanwhile RK enters Sh's room and finds it in a disrray. He picks up a smashed photo of Sh, when Sh enters and snatches the photo away from him. RK asks him if he is still angry with him. Completely crushed and broken, Sh asks him as to why did he do such a thing to him. When RK replies that "majboori thi", he shouts "what maljboori? Marriage to my mother and love for someone else". RK tells him that his mother knew abt. his love for MB and that she... But as he turns around he finds that Sh has already left the room and thus he does not finish his sentence. (Till the end of the serial it is left unsaid what Sh's mother felt abt the other woman in her husband's life).
The next day some of the college students deface Sh's face in one of the posters, and one of the catty one remarks that Sh has been reduced from a hero to a zero.. At this point, Pe enters with Lal and all rush to congratulate her for having defeated a gunda. Pe doesn't seem pleased at hearing this, nor does she like what has been done to Sh's poster. Before she can react however, Sh enters with his friends and sees the poster. He gives a glance full of anger, but also of hurt to Pe and then asks 'who has done this?'. Lal says insolently that u used to make fun of others, today someone has made fun of u. Before the scene can turn ugly, a lecturer comes and asks them the matter. When Sh points at the poster, she says that this is in a very bad taste and that this was not a war but merely a college election, and that defeat and victory are part and parcel of life. She advises Sh to help Pe with his experience (Pe turns away with a smirk). Sh replies that he is very sorry but there are some people whose very faces he doesn't like, and let aside advice them, he doesn't even like talking to them. Now it is the turn of Pe to look hurt.
With everything collapsing within him and without, Sh in the basketball court bounces the ball up and down in a passion. He recalls everything : his father's revelations; the students mockery, the lecturer's advice and he says that it seems as though Pe has entered my life forever. He discusses his predicament with his friends.While Avi instigates him further by stating that not only was Pee his bete-noir in college, now she was trying to become his dad's darling daughter.. Rishi asks him to restrain his anger as now he knew that Pe was related to him. At this Sh throws a tantrum and states that there is no relation b/w the 2 of them and that he will destroy Pe by destroying her family. Rishi statrts thinking of how to forewarn Pe abt. this. (It is highly amusing that while the RK/Peehu relationship was often called by its proper name:father-daughter, the refrences to Sh/Pee relationship was clothed in vagueness: relation, rishta. Even in the end, Sh simply says that after yrs. of running away from the truth, he has finally accepted the fact that they have the same father.. It is in fact Pe who calls it by its propre name when she tells Sh that she was denied even the right to call him Bhai).
Pe, as g.s organises a bonfire for the students, and she asks Palak to attend the prog. too. Palak is wary of showing her scarred face to Kartik but Pe assures her that Kartik is not somebody who is attracted merely by physical beauty. At the prog. venue Lal says that I hope Palkcomes becoz Prof.K has arrived. Soham turns to him and says, "Ahha u are becoming quite a matchmaker" ( Very nice acting by Soham over here). Lal replied "Yes if u 2 love a girl let me know and I'll fix things b/w U2" so looks at pe and thinks to himself that yes he loves a girl but does not know how to reveal his feelings to hwer. Meanwhile Palak arrives looking absolutely stunning and with a scarf hiding the scarred portion. As she talks to PK, the scarf blows off and she tries to hide her burns but Kartik holds her hands and says that she has so much of inner beauty that she should not worry abt. a few blemishes. Meanwhile, Rishi thru a junior student sends a chit to Pe telling her how Sh wants to hurt her family, as Pe looks up she finds Sh glaring at her with murder in his eyes and she looks apprehensive and scared. Lal hears PK taking on the phone and realises that PK might be married. After the party is over PK drops Palak at her home and there is a certain unspoken attraction b/w them. Ria tells Rishi that she doesn't want to be friends any longer with Sh coz of his dastardly deeds. Rishi says he is unable to understand why there is so much of anger in Sh.(Their last appearence in the serial)
Sh tells RK that he wants to go for a trip and manages to get one lakh rupees. This he gives to a peon in Pe's father's office. The plan being that the peon will plant the money in such a way that Pe's father will be arrested for taking bribe. It is Pe's father's b'day and her mother is planning a surprise for him. When he reaches his office he is first informed of his promotion. But then the poloice walks in and he is arrested!!! Everybody at home and office is shocked. Meanwhile Pe tells Lal and Soham abt the chit and they fear that all this might be Sh's handiwork.( This is Neha's last appearence as Peehu in the serial). Palak's father arranges for the bail for Pe's father but he keeps on agonising over his loss of face and reputation and suffers a heart-attack. Everybody rushes him to the hospital.( Here we the viewers were in a big shock as we found that Pe had been changed). RK too arrives and tries to give financial aid but is strongly rebuffed by Pe and her family. Back home, he asks Sh whether he feels no shame at whatever he has done. Sh replies that that his mother suffered coz of Pe's mother and so he has no qualms in making her family suffer. Meanwhile at the hospital, Soham's father arrives with money but they find out that somebody has already paid for the medical expenses. It transpires that the chairman of the Kapoor group of Industries (where Pe's father used to work) has done this. Pe goes to meet this man and finds him to be pretty young and that his name is Aryan. She tells him that she does not want to accept charity that too from a man who first threw her father out before investigating the case properly. He is impresed by her integrity( Actually this Pe had such an attitude prob. in these initial episodes). and informs her that he would not only reinstate her father as a manager but also pub. a newspaper article proclaiming his innocence. He does so and Pe is maha-impressed. So is RK, who shows it to Sh and tells him that an honest person alwys wins and warns him that if he tries to harm Pe and her family than he'd disown him from his house, his property, and his name. A stunned Sh just looks at him. ( In the fleeting appearences that Sh. made after the jump, he was a much subdued character. His manner conveyed the fact that he was resigned to the fact that his father would always love Pe more than him).
As Pe's father recovers So's father goes to him with So's marriage proposal. As he is abt to say it the doorbell rings and everyone is surprised to see Aryan.an even more shocked when Aryan proposes to Peehu. As Soham looks from a beaming Aryan to a coy Pe, it looks as though all his hopes have been blighted forever. Coming out, Soham's father splutters that he cannot understand from where this Aryan dropped from. But Soham tells his father that Aryan can offer all material comforts to Peehu and so perhaps Peehu should marry him. His father says thet Peehu is not someone who runs after riches. Meanwhile Peehu's parents feel that Aryan is a good match and Ask Peehu to accept his proposal. Peehu discusses this with her friends and they too tell her the same thing. Soham does all this half-heartedly. Lalit guesses that Soham loves Peehu and confronts him with this. Soham confesses to his love but says that he can do anything for Peehu's happiness and if she can be happier with Aryan he will not grudge her that ( Even after the jump, it is finally Soham who convinces Peehu to forgive Aryan and rtn. to him. Pyaar ho to aisa). Meanwhile Peehu meets Aryan and says that all this is too sudden for her to comprehend. She also says that you do not know anything abt. my past. And he replies," Who is in your past? Krish.' As peehu looks stunned he says that he knows all abt. Krish and her as their fathers are in the same business. Also that he knows abt. her relationship with the Kochhars, but that all this does not make any difference to him. Peehu accepts his proposal.
