Do new faces make a difference on shows or is old is gold as a phrase true?

Shristi Rodey(Manjari of Yeh ishq Hayye ) or Smriti Irani ( the famous tulsi of Saaa bhi kabhi Bahu thi )??? Ronit Roy( KD or Mihir ) or Karan Mehra ( Naitik of Yeh Rishta kya kehlata hai )??? Who do you think is wanted more on screen?
Well for once this topic is sure debatable. Do new faces make a difference or we still look for the well established actors and actresses of yester years? According to the thesis conducted , it came to our knowledge that youngsters prefer new bright faces where as the audiences ranging from 30 to 40 years of age want the much talented and experience actors back . Looking from a larger angle ,both have their pros and cons. New talents are always welcome as today we have loads of it in our industry. It's through these young fresh talents, that we have got faces like " Sanaya Irani,Barun Sobti,Ankita Lokhande, Sushant Rajput,Sukirti Khandpal,Soumya Seth,Shaheer Sheikh and many more ruling the TV industry. These faces bring about the dynamics in acting and freshness to the screen. Directors can mould their talents and experiment with wide range of emotions. Soumya Seth for example who plays the role of Navya in Star Plus's 10.00 PM show, according to Director Ravi Bhushan, "was hard to crack as an actor. Instead of taking the girl to the character we took the character towards the girl".

New launches in the industry always have high expectations and is a gamble in a way. Sometimes they click with the viewers , giving a high wave to existing TRPS of the show and sometimes they are just not able to bring to the table and deliver what was promised of them. But one thing is guaranteed , the element of chemistry between the leads or supporting actors is definitely worth the watch. At times fans demand the comeback of their favourite stars and they want to see them only with their favourite co-stars. New faces for sure face tough resistance as an image is already engraved in the minds of the audience who have been loyal fans of an actor.

On the other hand, the saying "old is gold " definitely apt and justifiable where the legendary actors are concerned. The evidence is in the name of a recent Sony show " Bade ache lagtey hai" which has the very talented Saakshi Tanwar and Ram Kapoor in the leads. Now here is an perfect example of talent with amazing experience packaged in one . Seeing them in a frame is a visual treat as they bring about maturity and semblance to their characters , unlike new actors ,who are constantly told how to go about a particular scene and its execution in every minute way. The packaging of the show has been done in a manner that it does manage to grab eye balls despite its clich storyline and known faces. Watching these known faces on the screen is a sheer pleasure. Actors like "Smriti Irani however is thoroughly missed after leaving an indelible mark as Tulsi Virani in Kyunki Saas bhi Kabhi Bahu thi. She did follow up with her own line of shows like Viruddh which failed to create a mark with the audience. She has been in hiatus for far too long , her arrival is still awaited eagerly. Saakshi Tanwar,Ronit Roy,Usha Nandkarni, Savita Prabhune , Supriya pilgoankar or Kiran Kumar are a few names to reckon with. They are the power house of talents and are electrifying to see them on the small screen. Though shows like Chajje Chajje ka Pyaar on Sony or Mayke se Bandhi dor are stories of young couples their having seasoned actors like Kiran Kumar and Rohini Hathangde do add to people wanting to watch the shows for them. If young blood bring chemistry and charisma , these experienced actors bring in power, and flawlessness to their acting.

Hence the combination of youth and talent is the best combination ever. Viewers not only get to see young fresh faces but also get talent rolled with experience .It is like a striking a perfect balance. Now is up to the makers to extract the hidden talents in the youth and sustain the powerful substance of the experienced lot.
