Naina accompanies, Akruti to Ayush's house, and rings the bell at the entrance, and the maid. Charu, opens the door asking them, whom they want to meet. Naina asks her if Ayush is at home, and she tells her that he is not. She then asks her, if his parents are in, and for that too she gives the answer in the negative. The maid shows her impatience with the two, and closes the door. As she closes, Ayush comes down and asks her who they were, and she tells them that they were two girls, and she sent them away, just as he had instructed her.
Naina is not satisfied, and doubts the intentions of the maid, and then it strikes her, when she sees Ayush's car parked in front of the house. She hits upon the idea of activating the car's burglar alarm, and the buzzer starts its alarm. The two girls are waiting for a reaction from inside the house, and out comes the maid to check the cause, and on finding them, she becomes suspicious. Ayush comes down the steps and opens the door, and in front of the girls whom he does not see, asks the maid, if she had closed the car door properly. Then Naina and Akruti come forward, and Ayush finds himself in an impossible situation and invites them inside.
At the very time, Daksh brings Kaka Shridar, from his hotel, and the latter behaves
very arrogantly, and says he is going to take rest in his room. He tells his wife to prepare tea and bring it to him. His wife is very angry, and in spite of it, she brings the tea to the room, where he is relaxing unaware of anything that happened in the house during his absence. He still behaves rudely to her, and then her patience comes to an end, and she gives him the ultimatum, which shocks him. She is going disown him and to pretend that she is his wife, but between them, all relations have come to a dead end. He has no rights over his children, after the exhibition of his cruelty and indifference to all of them, in spite of them bailing him out of a debt of fifteen lakhs of rupees, which he arrogantly claims to have been the duty of his brother to save him.
At Ayush's place he has invited the girls inside and Akruti complains to him for telling lies to her, and he evades her suspicions and persuades her the believe him. Naina sees an invitation card on the table, and immediately, Ayush slips a CD cover on it, to distract her. They get assurances from Ayush, on their telling him, that Akruti is pregnant, and he has to hurry telling his parents, that he will do so, they leave. Akruti is made to wait outside by Naina, when she goes to bring a rickshaw. Just then a car comes and parks in front of the house, and a man comes out and asks Akruti, where the house of Ayush is, and she point s out to the door She sees the driver coming out with a covered tray, with wedding gifts, taking these the man enters the house and the driver, drives the car away. Naina arrives with the rickshaw, and they leave for home.
Naina comes home tired and is greeted by Minoo Tai, who asks her why she had been
so late. Naina apologizes to her. Minoo wants to present her with a wedding gift, and asks her to wait a little, till she brings it, as Daksh is watching them and tells her not to lose time in inviting her parents to sort out the details and fix a date for the marriage. Naina suddenly turns blank. Minoo Tai tells her that it is very late, and she could telephone her parents tomorrow morning and noticing that she is upset, asks why she is feeling so uneasy. Minoo Tai thinks she has doubts, and she assures Naina that she will persuade them to accept Abhi, her precious one and only son. Ayee comes and sees it too. She also tries to uplift her spirit telling her that she has found a boy, who is according to her estimates, is "one in a thousand" boys. Lucky for Naina to have got him, then her son calls her, "Ayee" and she goes to see his needs. Ayee suspects something is bothering Naina. When Vibha wants to strike a conversation, to make things easy for her, Naina takes leave of them, and goes to the room.
Vibha goes to Daksh with two glasses of milk for him and Naina, and she does not go straight to her, as she is at a loss, how to broach the subject to her. She remembers that Anjali had introduced herself to Daksh, as Naina's mother, but Naina had not admitted to anyone that she was. Ayee wanted to find out long time ago, but she did not want to hurt Naina's feelings. Daksh assures his mother that he will persuade her to tell him, and takes the glass of milk and goes to her room.
Naina is sitting on her bed alone, pondering and recalling how Anjali had told her how
she was hurt by her father. She was told, that it was true that she was her husband's daughter, but she was not the mother. This shocks and confuses the girl, and makes her leave the Bardhwaj Home, and move to Darjeeling. All that pain that was buried within her, now erupts, and she does not know how to handle it. She hears, Daksh knocking at her door, and he enters, with a glass of milk, and says to her very tenderly. "What is bothering you Naina, you look so worried. At times, we find ourselves not able to express our feelings. Surely, you can tell your 'best friend'?" - As the haunting music plays in the background, Naina steps close to him, and bursts out in his arms, and gently Daksh holds and comforts her.
In the preview, we see Minoo Tai, with a Mangalsutra for Naina, asking Daksh what he thinks of her choice. If only she knows what arrow she is piercing his heart, unknowingly. When Naina arrives she decks her with the sacred chain, and praises how beautiful she looks in it. Daksh is getting choked. Minoo Tai then asks if she telephoned her parents, but she does not give her any answer. .
