Reliance Broadcast Network and Star Plus presents the BIG Television Awards ' a unique and distinctive award that recognises the impact of these characters on the audience. The award ceremony will take place tonight and have the biggest stars from the telly world making their presence felt at the event in Andheri.
This awards introduces categories that are pegged on the emotion that TV character brings alive in audiences. For the first time a television award platform will witness categories like most 'Dulara' character (male and female), most 'Namkeen' character, most 'Khatarnakh' character and most 'Garma Garam' TV Jodi. Other categories include 'Veer', 'Rangeela' and 'Bechara' characters, each representing the emotion the character brings alive on the small screen. The BIG Television Awards have been judged by a jury panel consisting of Zeenat Aman, Smriti Irani and Sachin Pilgaonkar, who have cast their vote along with audiences to decide the winners.
So Saath Nibhana Saathiya's docile Gopi will have to compete with bubbly Anandi of Balika Vadhu fame in the 'Dulara' (female) category. The elders in the family receive their dues, as Kalyani (Daadi Saa of Balika Vadhu) faces Gopi's saas ' Kokila 'Khatarnak' (female) category. Men need not worry, they will be given their due. Pavitra Rishta's Manav will battle it out with Ishaan from Sasural Genda Phool in the 'Dulara' (male) category. The evening will also witness some rocking performances by Mahii Vij, Sara Khan, Ragini Khanna and Jay Bhanushali
