I took Naitik to a park where we could spend some time alone and admitted my mistake. Naitik was very understanding and assured me that our relationship is too strong to be affected by minor misunderstandings. I have now decided to leave the past behind and start afresh with the help and support of my loving family.
This incident has made me realize the importance of admitting your mistake in time. If I had allowed my ego to come in between and indulged in self pity, the tension between me and Naitik would not have ended. I have realized that it is no use wasting time holding grudges against each other. Instead one should work towards bettering relationships and enriching them further.
However I felt very guilty when Naitik tried to come close to me and I stopped him because I was not prepared to get intimate and requested him to give me some time Even though he understood my situation I felt guilty about my behavior and kept apologizing to him. I just hope that God gives me the strength to recover fully from the recent incidents and that things between Naitik and me return to normal.
Naitik and I also had a good time meeting Ma's sister Sulochana Maasi this week. She is a lively lady and fun to be with. I was happy that she complimented me for the look of our room saying that I have done a good job of decorating it. Maasi being an NRI is modern in her behavior and attitude, I was a little worried that Gayatri Ma and the rest of the family may find her behavior offensive. Luckily Gayatri Ma assured me that she does not have a problem and understands that Maasi has stayed abroad and follows a different culture. That was very sweet on Gayatri Ma's part.
Preparations for Rashmi and Nikhil's wedding are on. Everyone is very excited as Rashmi is the youngest and most pampered member of the house. We want her wedding to be a memorable one and are working towards making it her dream wedding.
At first I felt a little odd when Gayatri Ma asked me to accompany Rashmi and Nikhil for shopping but I finally agreed. It made me nostalgic about my wedding and brought back memories of how excited I was to choose my dress, my hairdo and I wanted to look just perfect. I am sure Rashmi is equally excited and I have promised to do my best in ensuring that her wedding will be the most memorable day of her life.

taking care of rashmi during the shopping episode. But Akshara needs to be assertive and say what actually happened. Her character needs to be a shade assertive, not aggressive but assertive. Akshara-Hi Karan. Good to know that you are enjoying your break and good luck for your engineering course. Sulochana Maasi is and NRI and her behavior is modern but that does not necessarily make her bad, so I disagree with you on that point. But please do keep writing in with your suggestions.
Just like you, I had a lot of mixed feelings after getting married. Not knowing how I could adjust to my husband, family, and life. But I took your advice and realized that patience, trust, and understanding will make a marriage work. It was funny to watch some of the episodes as I felt as if I have experienced the same thing in my life. Especially the small fights you and Naitik would have. I used to go through the same with my hubby too and end up apologizing at the end. You are a very smart, pretty, and lovely person Akshara. Just like how you have a great friend (and relative) Varsha, I also have a friend by the name of Divya. (But she is not my relative). We studied together in college and like you and Varsha, she and I are close and share our problems, thoughts, feelings, etc. When I used to have problems in my marriage, Divya would advise me just like Varsha used to advise you. Varsha and Divya are short and sweet and I am a bit taller like you. Coincidentally, Divya also has round and bright eyes like Varsha and applies kajal and eyeliner like her too! What a small world huh?
You have really matured into a great 'bahu' and I am sure the whole family is proud of you. Due to my hectic work timings, I do not get a chance to watch the show at 9:30 p.m., so I catch up on the shows on www.indya.com.
