Naina with her Father, as a child
The story starts with Rohini's rant, "The loan was taken by uncle, and why should we pay? Let his family pay." This upsets the family who have been discussing how to raise the money, to pay Usman Bhai. After Ayee has given a piece of her mind, strongly and vehemently this time, to her daughter in law, Sanket tells his father to break the Fixed Deposit while Rohini looks angrily at him.. Adding to her anger, he tells him, that he will withdraw his savings too. Minoo Tai, too shows her new side of her good nature, and offers to give one lakh of her savings. The gentle Vidhyadar is overwhelmed, and tells his sister in law, not to put herself in a difficult situation, but she insists, as she feels in moment of need the family should stand together. She considers herself a part of their family. They manage to raise some, Daksh would give four lakhs, the father will bring two lakhs, and Sanket would pool in and Minoo Tai, her savings. Only Rohini still complains, and can not understand what the others are telling her.
In her own room, Naina, takes out her treasure chest she brought from home. There is an envelope with cash, and she opens her jewelry box, and sees a photograph of her father with her, as a small child, when he had gifted her a pair of diamond ear-rings, and told her one day when she would be big, she would wear them. Her father is no more to share her grief or joy. She had always felt incomplete without him, and especially after her step mother had told her that she was not her real mother. Now she wants to give this money to the two people who have shown parents' love which has filled her heart, and has made her a fulfilled person. She feels that it is her duty to come to their rescue, and decides to give all she has to them.
In their room, Vidhyadar and Vibha are pondering how it all came to this point. He counts the money and tells his wife, he falls short of seven lakhs, and then says, "Shridar to settle his loan, sold the house, and betrayed his own brother, I can not believe it." : Vibha's deep faith in God, Lord Ganesha, triumphs. She has been so devoted to him, she knows he will not fail her, even though she can not explain how, to her husband. True faith does not question how, but just believes, that God is still interested in his devotees. She tries to find excuse for Rohini's behavior and the father too says, after all she is a mother, and concerned for her child.
Naina comes to them, and offers them money, persuades them with deep emotional commitment, to take it, and gives them her reasons, telling them that she considered herself to be their daughter She tells them not to consider her as not having any blood relationship, but she has taken them as her parents. Vibha is overwhelmed with her generosity. Naina says, that she has seen in their eyes, their feelings for her pain, and now she wants to do the same to them. She is afraid, that she will be incomplete once again, so she asks them to take her as their own. They tell her, that usually, parents give their daughters, but now times have changed and both are same to the parents.
In the hall, Daksh is setting up the cash, to be given to the money lenders. They need seven lakhs more, and are in a quandary as to where to get it from. Rohini smarts at the thought that her father in law has broken the Fixed Deposit, and Sanket tells her to stop her wailing and whimpering. The father tells her that he did not have to break the fixed deposit. Minoo Tai, tells her, that the situation did not arise at all. Rohini can not understand what they are talking about. Minoo Tai becomes more explicit, and tells her, "What you could not do as a daughter in law of this house, was done by their daughter and my future daughter in law." All are stunned. Daksh looks at her in surprise. Rohini feels like a caged bird, wanting to fly away as far as possible. Then she looks at Naina, and says, "Yes this very girl, Naina, whom I was considering an outsider, whom I was finding not fit to be my daughter in law, has saved this family and its self respect from the goondas. More than half of the loan has been paid by Naina."
Rohini's shifty eyes turn from right to left. Minoo Tai comes forward, and acknowledges Naina openly, and admits that she has opened her eyes, and takes her also as her daughter and tells Naina not to call her Maushi but Ayee. They hug each other. We see how a good deed can turn any embittered heart around, and Naina has learnt it from the lap of her devoted father, who unfortunately is not alive to see the change in his daughter and how she has grown up to be. The family is relieved that now they have the money to pay back the uncle's debt.
Usman with his henchmen, barge into the house demanding to vacate it. When Daksh
offers him money and asks them to leave the house a bit imperiously, they call him "Chikna" in reply and say, that he can keep the money and he wants the house and the keys to it. They do not know how to respond to this belligerence, of his gang.
When all seems lost, Mr. Joshi, the lawyer whom Daksh had gone to see, comes in, to the astonishment of Daksh, with his two assistants, and tells Usman, that the papers he has are forged, and shows him, the real papers. Usman can not read, so he asks his assistant, and is convinced. Joshi tells him, that even if he manages to take the house, he still has to get permission from the Government as it is a reserved plot, and he will have to shell out crores of rupees to the Government to have it transferred in his name. The lawyer tells him, it is a better idea, he takes his fifteen lakhs and leaves the house. He does exactly that and they leave.
In the preview of the next day's story, Minoo asks Naina if she would be her daughter in law, and Abhi tells her all is fine, but he has not yet told him, if she loves him, and again, all we see is a blank face of Naina, with no reply.
