Multiple Personality Disorder Anyone?

All abuse leads to development of MPD can be emotional, physical, or sexual, or combinations thereof in reality it is mental! The mind perceives and interprets the harmful acts as abusive, so 'is society responsible for this disorder'?

MPD is common among:
Highly educated people...🤓
People who are artists, professors, actors...😎
People who seek fame and power ...⭐️
Religious people ...😒
Mental health professionals ...😲
People in the sex industry ... 😈
Dumb criminals, serial rapists, and serial murderers ...
Judges, mayors, and politicians ...

ps... Do you suffer from MPD? I know I do...😆

Aren't we already doing this to an extent? By having a pseudo name and leaving our identity behind in real world and embracing something new and lot borrowed (identity wise, that is) in this virtual world?

Sometimes, we don't need that many reasons to choose a different identity...consciously at least.

Just to get away from the din of the world and to do something that we love but do not have enough time or bandwidth to do so in real life or just...little scared of the reaction our actions might trigger. And keeping our own real identity out of the picture, gives a freedom; to express without being judged of the background we come from.

You forgot to add forum members to your list!! 😆

Jokes apart, you are using a very liberal definition of the dissociative identity disorder. Patients with this disorder usually have at least two very distinct personalities that control them, and they usually suffer from severe memory loss when they shift from one personality to the other. From what I remember, they have linked this disorder in those with high levels of stress and traumatic experiences in their past (child abuse, sexual abuse, etc.). But there is also a lot of controversy regarding this disorder since it's really hard to diagnose patients with this disorder. Why does it occur more frequently in North America than anywhere else? Is it because doctors in other places are not well aware of this tendencies associated with this disorder or is it because doctors in North America are too aware of this disorder? Lots of psychology involved here.

Would a person suffering from MPD be aware of it?

No, they would not be aware of the fact that they suffer from multiple personalities. They usually suffer from severe memory loss, so they would not remember what happened when they were in their "other" personality.

Doesn't your list contain roughly the whole segregation? Perhaps, the society is responsible but eventually I have come to realize that one cannot believe other people for the formulation of their character or in this case, multiple characters. If I feel I am distinctive and that I stand out of a certain set of people I am socially considered part of, the feeling of distinction and that I do not have the credibility to understand those people and vice versa is going to bother me, and is of course likely to drag me into behaving in several masqueraded ways. The artist and the serial rapist can both belong to the same society, and their subjection on each other is what is going entitle them no choice but continuous attempts of trying to blend in artificially. 🤓
