are polly takshila was in Afghanistan re...and those were bamian statues abt which you are talking about...may be they reached to bamian in search of the kavach ...but those statues can't be there...because it was ashoka the great who spreaded budhism all over the asia..and bamian statues are made in the kushan age as far my knowledge..because as far my knowledge goes bamian statues were also examples of gandhar sculpture..which spreaded in the time of kanishka...so though cgm could reach bamian area but the statues couldn't be there at that time
