What the Qur’an says about ...........

I've world religions course this semester in my school and we take a look at the top 6 religions of the world and Islam is one of them. Our teacher told us that the Qur'an itself says you will go to heaven only if you are a muslim. Heaven is perserved only for Muslims and ALL non-muslims will go to hell.

I just wanna know if this is true or not. If it is true then how do guys feel about this?😊

Well every religon tries to have maximum followers as possible. Some religons very actively try and make conversions. Christianity is very active in this sending missionaries to non Christian parts of the world. Islam is compartively a new religon and needed followers at the begining.

Such things "about attaining heaven through Islam or Christainity ONLY" are method to pursued people to convert to the faith and also to make sure people who are contemplating conversion out of Islam or Christianity should fear the consequences, as in hell.

As for whether it true or not!!??!!My simple answer to this is a question back :" Where do you think Kabir Das, Sur Das,Tulsi Das, Meera Bai ,Sri Aurobindo ,Swami Vivekanand, Vallmiki ,Gautam Buddha, Mahavira, Mother Teresa, Gandhi Ji, Guru Gobind Singh ,Guru Nanak Dev Ji, and all the Sikh Gurus , Sai Baba( Shirdi) and so mamy saints in Hindusim, Sikhism and other religons went after death ?????????????????? "

ive never heard of it like that...i mean yea there r certain things that will qualify a person to enter paradise or get tortured in hell and that descision is only in God's hands. but that doesnt mean you have to be a muslim...you have to be a FIRM BELIEVER...a believer believes in God...and that can be ANY God you choose...but Islam values monotheism over polytheism (but i wont get in2 that because i dont want an army of angry hindus/sikhs/buddhist (are there other polytheistic religions widely practiced now?) attacking me for something i didnt mean to attack them for 😳).

Islam is a fair religion...everyone is going to get get punished for their bad deeds (thats all of us because none of us is dood ka dhulla wa no matter how good we may be) and then once they've had the amount of punishment alloted 4 their bad deeds they will spend the rest of their lives in heaven...so good people will go to heaven SOONER than bad people (only god judges wheter ur actions are good or bad)

a PRACTICING muslim is expected to make less mistakes in life because they know whats wrong and whats right (not always true tho) and that is why people assume u will go 2 heaven if ur muslim.

ok if that were the case...all those sickos killing themselves and others will end up in heaven and aparna di mentioned like mother teresea would end up in hell...and logically that makes no sense...and god knows better than that

yea and as aparna di said ppl trying 2 convert ppl 2 their religion say such things because they want to be good "salesmen" but really if ur a good believer ur good
u know whats interesting..islam was spread to many places by the safavid/ummaid/ottoman empires and their militeristic rule...this was not the way Muhammad wanted to spread Islam but after his death people interpreted it differently...eastern asia (indonesia malaysia area) was exposed to islam via trade...no1 forced them to accept islam but they saw the teachings of islam from the merchants and adopted the religion and today indonesia is the #1 country with muslims..kool right 😊

according to each religion there religion is the best and should be followed by everyone, therefore for ones who dont they will get punished in the afterlife (if you believe in it)

JKS, i think what you stated about Islam is through. Muslims believe that all Muslims will go to heaven, although they may go to hell at some stage for the sins they committed but ultimately they will be granted heaven (to a lesser degree though). However according to Islam, non-believers will be sent to hell unless they convert.

That is what Islam states however you have to respect every religion etc, so for Muslims this is taken to be true. However that doesnt mean that just because you see a non-muslim you treat them differently and taunt them about going to hell (from my experinces some muslims do that )

i agree with what you're saying😊 you cant just say that you're a muslim and go against the religion's principals and expect to end up in heaven! For example a punishment for someone who commits sucide is that in hell they will repeat the action of killing themselves for eternity, so does that mean they wont enter heaven?

some bits are confusing, but it depends on your deeds on earth i guess.

Well they are like any other person and going through the life of the grave, weather they are going to Hell or Heaven God Knows best, but the reality is that we have to believe One God and not associate anything with him, for example we cannot say God has a Son etc...

Also regarding your views of the conversions, it is not true, Islam does not need followers, followers need ISLAM, Muslims just try and teach others the true path.

Anyway i do not think this is a appropraite place to debate which religion is true or false,

We have Hindus and Christians and other religons amongst us on this forum who may not share your belief. Your belief is your very own to be shared with your community.

Also the people i mentioned were not "like any other person" BUT mostly saints. Some of these are Hindu,Buddhist, and Sikh gurus,spirtual leaders and saints. They believe in "Karma" the basis on which God decides where they will go after death.

yes..i agree with u tht islam is in 1 of the top religions and i think christianty is too ryt? and so is hinduism?..so..u tell me..is it my fault that i'm a hindu and not a muslim so i won't go 2 heaven..who knows..there might not even be a heaven?😕

btw..wot if your a muslim but you've created a lot of sins/crimes like say ermm..kill 10 people..plz don't tell me that u'll still go 2 heaven..i'm not being rude or anything..but it doesn't really depend on what the Qur'an says..isn't it basically what ur own belief is..don't u think? in the same way, some people believe in reincarnation whereas others think this is our 1 and only life..

i'm not sure abt others..but i don't think it's true..but sorry..i can't fully comment as i haven't read the Qur'an and i'm not muslim😳😕

there is only 1 God..e.g in Hinduism..Avatars of God lyk Aparna di said..lyk vishnu..ganpati all came down 2 earth..but they were a form of God..maybe not God's son etc..but they were part of God..agessss ago there was only 1 God..ppl used 2 believe in only 1 God but now as years have gone by..there are many roots..which are religions and they have kind of set up their own thing if u get what i mean..it's kind of like we all h8 each otha now..not evry1 but a vast majority of ppl..there is now Allah, Krishna bhagwan, Jesus, Lord Bhuddha and many more..but if u think about it..after all who are they all...GOD!! so there is jus 1 God with many forms..and allah is 1 of those forms! and so is Jesus and Krishna..shiva..etc.. 😊

well, i too have always been confused about that. i mean, the people who go to heaven are the ones who are riteous. they are the ones who do good.
but the real answer is, that if u just accept that there is a religion of Islam, u have a chance of going into heaven. that is what i learned in Sunday School. Accepting Islam can be not really becoming a Muslim, just accepting that there is such religion. So if they do that, they can also go to Heaven if they do good in life.
