When urmilla was talking to rashi she said that she use to fight with jitu bhai everyday

Urmilla isnt doing the right thing advising her daughter that its ok to fight wth her husband before she knows it jigar will kick rashi out

I think Urmila set the path that her marriage would take, by showing Jitu that he would be a hen pecked husband, she nagged and nagged until he knows himself how to behave in the house, she's got him way she wants him. Urmila has mentioned in the very early episodes that she brought the shagun that he used in his business.

It can work if the man's family are not alive and if your family gave a good shagun to the man etc, so you and your family are dominant in the marriage. Look at Kinjal is a good example of that, she's got Dhaval where she wants him. Also the guy needs to be well mannered and willing to make you happy at any cost, someone like Jigar can become a hen pecked husband easily.
