I am brought up in Delhi but Dhoni is my Favorite Cricketer. Sachin is an Icon and you cant ignore him if you are talking about Cricket. Then you realises what wrong Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, Virat Kohli , Zaheer Khan etal has done so why not support them as well??
So all in all I am supporting almost every team participating in IPL😆, doesn't this take away the excitement ?where you suffer from SPLIT LOYALIY SYNDROME(I call it one😆)?
Moreover news are doing the rounds that KKR and whole of Kolkata is angry because the team has left out Sourab Ganguly. They are even slashing the ticket prices so that more people come to stadium to watch the match. Apparently only 25,000 went in to see the first match of KKR at their home ground while the capacity is around 68,000.
Its been said that this season of IPL is generating less crowd, less revenue and less interest amongst people as well? What is the reason in your all eyes...
Is it overdose of Cricket?
or
We all are suffering from Split Loyalty Syndrome?

Is it possible to merge this post w/ the IPL-Your Loyalities... thread? Reason I created this is that I'd like to poll and find out which team has the most support here. Note that I've enabled multiple options, since it's possible for some people to have split loyalties e.g. someone from Bangalore supporting RCB, but RR as well due to loyalty to Dravid. Essentially, I would like this poll to show up there.

It's DC and RR for me. Like I already mentioned in the other thread, I support DC because it's my home team, and RR solely because of Dravid. DC is NOT doing too well, but I am glad RR is doing good. Though Dravid's contribution could've been way better. He needs to get in form again and play like he used to before.

I'm just wondering whether next year's IPL will be a resurgence of the old? Dravid for RR and Sourav for PWI?

Since Shane Warne will be retiring, RR will have to select a new captain. A good choice would be Johann Botha, who already leads RSA's 20-20 side. It also enables them to include in every match Tait, and have a side balanced b/w bat & ball, pace & spin, if they have Watto, Botha, Taylor and Tait. The other alternative b4 them might be to make Dravid the captain, but I think Botha would be a better choice.

In Pune, Yuvraj has failed to impress this year, but I don't want Dada to replace him as captain, as he goes more by reputation than by current form, as was clear last season w/ KKR. Rather, if Yuvraj has to be replaced, I'd rather that it be by someone like Uthappa. But I didn't get the deal about Dada not playing last night against KXIP, and Yuvraj saying it had been left up to him. As Sherrypa said, it's not his prerogative, and given how the team had been doing, what better opportunity was there than for him to play? Besides, since PWI is already out of the contest and might as well use the remaining matches to try out their other players, what better opportunity to play him, and have him blend w/ his new team?

I'd like to see both Dravid & Sourav soar high both this year and next, but I don't want to see either of them return as captain of their sides.

@Bolded parts- My sentiments exactly. I feel Botha has impressed me this year with his consistent performance. He's good with the ball, good with the bat. Though what Botha does for the batting side is exactly what Dravid used to do in the Indian ODI team. Botha tries to keep wickets, and let the other batsman fire away. With Warne's retirement, it gives chance for Tait to play in all the matches. Tait is essential for the team. He bowls well. And like you said, with the inclusion of Tait, there will be a proper balance b/w Batting and bowling sides. I'm unsure about RR's fate this season. I want them to do well, with more contribution from Dravid though.

But Dravid becoming the captain, I wouldn't really want that. I don't know, I mean he wouldn't be a bad captain, but I just feel, he shouldn't take up captaincy. Same for Dada. He must not take up captaincy and instead focus on his playing more.

I'd like RR to get better local players next year. Although they lost Yusuf and Munaf, they didn't get anyone really replacing these 2, and Stuart Binny is not enough, and Dravid only does for the team what Laxman does for KTK. RR did a great job w/ their overseas players, but they need to strengthen the home side.

For Pune, I'd like to see Sourav open, instead of Ryder, who'd be better @ #3. The role Yuvi & Robbie want - #4 & 5 - can then be theirs. They should keep McCullum or Marsh @ #7, and Monish Mishra @ #6. Have Parnell/Thomas/Taylor battling for one slot, and Paine/Ferguson for the other.

I was disappointed tonight w/ RR's loss @ Jaipur. I agree w/ Warne - it should be up to the team, not the curators, to determine which pitch they want. Those curators just sunk RR. And the BCCI top brass had a clear conflict of interest when they ordered RR to play CSK on the other pitch, since their top members are CSK supporters.
