~PAST~
"Where the hell have you been . . . have you seen what time is it . . . we have been waiting for you since ages" Anwesha blabbered.
"Oh Please, cut the slack Annie, bottom
line I am here" Geet replied, knowing very well how to shut her.
"And as for time is considered, the car broke down, hence we got late" Maan lied as Geet smiled inwardly. Maan had requested her not to tell anyone about his secret garden as seemingly she was the only person after him, who knew about the place.
"You and your Khatara" Annie bit out.
"Tada, I did not drive in my car, you came here in mine, remember." Maan replied, clearly annoyed at Anwesha.
"Whatever" Annie replied as she pulled Geet by the hand and took her inside and Meera followed.
Maan sulked looking at their retreating figures. He did not know why but he felt this strange pull towards Geet. She was young, a bit too young, his sister's best friend, he shouldn't be thinking about her. but there he was not only thinking about her but also wanting to be with her.
It was perplexing, how he unwittingly showed her the garden. The one place he'd never wanted anyone to know of, why he felt like taking her there was incomprehensible for him. He didn't know why he danced with her, why he gave her a rose. He did not know anything about her and yet he felt like he just wants her by his side. Strange isn't it, how he wants to be the shoulder she cries on, he wants to be that helping hand who would pull her out of the shell she'd locked herself in. He decided to ignore the nagging feeling and the questions all together, and now he simply wanted to break the wall she had built around her.
Friendship was the first step. He needed to know her first then only could he help her.
"Geet so are you really going back to Shillong" Meera asked, as she took her seat beside Geet.
"May be, I want to but there are complications"
Maan was passing by when he heard the word complications and naturally he was interested in the conversation.
"I cannot leave mom alone midst my so called family members . . . when dad was there they never bothered to come now what the hell changed . . . suddenly all the brotherly love . . . bloody crap. For all I know dad never really liked his brother's family and in particular his nephew and my cousin Brij veer . . . in fact the reason dad sent me away to Shillong was Brij but I don't know the real matter. Leave that so you tell what's up with Yash"
"What do you mean?" Meera flushed as she avoided any sort of eye contact with Geet.
"You see I am not exactly blind" Geet chuckled as she nudged Meera teasingly in the arm.
"I don't know what you talking about" Meera shifted uncomfortably in the couch.
"Basketball court . . . eye lock" Geet battled her eye lids as Meera flushed with embarrassment.
"Fine shut . . . you're too smart for your age you know that" Meera raved as she tried getting up.
"Well yeah . . . advantage of living in Shillong . . . anyway, aren't you too young for eye locks" Geet winked at Meera as she frowned "not that a bad guy though"
"He is just a friend"
"Blah blah . . . try that excuse somewhere else"
"Fine . . . I like him but I don't know if he does" Meera said as she bit her lip the moment she realised what had escaped her throat.
"For a fact he does" Geet said in a matter-of-factly tone.
"How can you say so?" Meera looked up to Geet, she was now interested in the otherwise awkward conversation.
"I know he does" Geet replied calmly but inside she was rolling. God! How she enjoyed that expression on Meera's face. Geet could swear even she had never been so excited ever in her life.
"Did he say'
"He was asking about your where about from Adi" Geet smiled sardonically and with that Meera knew Geet didn't approve of it one bit.
"Why would Adi know about me?" Meera said more to herself but Geet as usual caught her.
"He was playing it safe . . . it's like this . . . Adi is my child hood friend and I am your friend" Geet explained as Meera's mouth opened in an O as she said 'Oh'
"Did you tell anything?" Meera asked impatiently.
"Of course . . . NOT, I just gave a bogus Phone number. Poor Yash by now he would have got a good chiding from our science teacher" Geet smirked wickedly just as Maan smiled. Well, this girl was something. No one could tell she was only fourteen unless he knew about her age.
"You did what" Meera's eyes almost popped out.
"Now he will think twice before spying over a girl . . . he could have directly asked you if he had the GUTS" Geet replied as a small smile traced Maan's lips. With every passing moment he was admiring her even more. She was simply not like any other girl. She was Geet, who had her own beliefs and she stood by those no matter what.
"But'
"Chill darling . . . if he is really interested next time him he'd directly talk with you. But my advice to you would be concentrate on your studies" Geet ended curtly.
"Ok Teacher ji" Meera smiled.
"No worries student ji" Geet chuckled as she patted Meera's cheek.
"Guys guess what . . . Arjun got rusticated" Anwesha squealed as she walked past Maan. In her excitement she did not realise Maan was also standing at the door.
"WOW" Meera exclaimed.
"Well I thought uncle would only suspend him, but rustication is even better" Geet's face beamed with happiness and her eyes reflected certain satisfaction which baffled Annie and Meera.
"You have a hand in it" Annie exclaimed.
"I complained about him last week" Geet replied rather calmly as Maan crossed his hands over his chest and waited for her to continue. What could have provoked such action from her side was what worried him and knowing the flirtatious ways of Arjun only increased his worry
"WHAT" Meera and Annie jumped from to stand on their feet and the next moment they were standing right in front of Geet staring at her as though she was an extra terrestrial creature.
"please guys . . . as far as I know I only have one head so stop staring at me like that" Geet frowned.
"What exactly did you complain about?" Annie asked.
"That he was stalking me" Geet said it as though nothing had happened and that shocked her friends.
Yeah i know filler update but i hope it isnt boring and yes i m not taking a leap anytime soon i m no longer on a block n i know what i will do next . . . anyway day after we are leaving for the new city or rather town . . . so i will / might b gayab shayab from IF for a month or so . . . once i get there only then can i know how much time will it take for my net connection to be connected . . . i will let you know just how much time it will take Via Shika di . . . i'll let her know n she'll let you guys know . . . BTW some of u requested me if i could go gto the cyber cafe for updating . . . sorry sweets not possible as one i m more than certain there cant b any cyber cafe's in that town as its supossedly a tiny town . . . secondly even that twon is like 15 KMs from the cantt. so i cannot possibly go all the way to the town for updating . . . But like i said earlier there is a comp in the library but i m not sure . . . let me get there first only then will i know my stand . . .
