Badki of Hum Log enters Kasamh Se

Remember Badki of Hum Log, the popular TV serial of the early 80s? The eldest daughter of the middle-class family was a representative for millions of Indian girls who found themselves buried under the day-to-day household responsibilities. The ordinary looking, p***le faced girl who hardly spoke was a character everyone related to and cried for. That was Seema Bhargava.

And after a long time, she is being once again seen in Ekta Kapoor's Kasamh Se on Zee TV. And as expected, has brought with her a plethora of human emotions, which every common person would relate to. "Seema's character is called 'Billoo Maasi' and is a mother figure to Jai Walia (Ram Kapoor). Jai loves her very much and can do anything to make her happy. She later becomes instrumental in bringing Jai and Baani closer", reveals Sandeep Sickand, Creative Head, Balaaji Telefilms.

In the current phase of story, the equation between Bani and Jai Walia is anything but normal. Jai wants to take revenge on Bani following a misunderstanding, which has hurt his ego. But with Billoo Maasi's entry, he has to pretend in front of her that things are perfectly normal between him and Bani.

"Seema Bhargava is an amazing actress. She was earlier seen in Kkoi Dill Mein Hai and Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, both my shows. And she just weaved her magic. So she remains very special to me," adds Sandeep justifying his choice for the all-important role of Billoo Maasi.

But wasn't Achla Sachdev supposed to do that particular role? "Yes, but then she is doing Kkavyanjali and is already very busy, " reveals Mr Sickand, "They are senior actors and you have to be careful with their dates"

Will she (Seema Bhargava) have a special look in the serial? "We are still discussing that." Keeping in mind the fact that the Balaji stable has always made style statements through their characters and set trends, we guess that is going to be something to look forward to.

"Thereafter the story would unfold as love blossoms between Jai Walia and Baani following Billoo Maasi developing a liking for Baani. And it would also be gradually revealed that Baani was once in love with Pushkar," adds Sandeep. Seema was not available for comment, but we are sure she would recreate the magic of 'Badki' in Hum Log.
