Thank you so so much for the translation...I knew it had to be something beautiful😊...these lines are by the greatest Urdu poet (according to me😳) of all times, Mirza Asadullah Khan Ghalib. He was the Shakespeare of Urdu poetry but he considered Farsi to be the real language and wanted to be accepted as a great Farsi poet, but alas it was not to be. Much to his chagrin,his compositions in Farsi were largely ignored though his Urdu shaayari found many patrons.

really?😲 i did guess this poem had to written by one of the Indian-Persian poet.i knew him but by this name ,Ghaleb e Dehlavi one of the greatest poet in Hindi style. (we have different styles in Persian poetry & never forget that he is very famous in Farsi poet in Persian Language literature as well (i graduated in persian language literature also😃) like Amir Khosro Dehlavi & Beedil e Dehlavi-they are the most famous poets in hindi style & they have been in india; maybe you know them - so he is very known poet in Iran.
