Geet's Apartment

She woke up feeling the warmth of the Sun...

"Hey,it is a gorgeous day!!! Dev dekhiye na,aaj Suraj bahar nikla

hai..WOW!! "

Dev looked up from his newspaper.

He smiled seeing his wife's child like excitement.

He was a man of few words and an introvert to the core.

Although he failed to voice his thoughts and feelings like his

bubbly wife he did secretly enjoy her childishness and innocent

antics.

"Dev,kya aaj hum Centrum jaa sakthe hai,khoomne keliye??"

"I'm sorry baby..Mujhe bohot saara kaam hai..Now that you know

the city well ,why don't you go for a walk,do some shopping and

enjoy!!"

"But Dev,it is no fun to go alone..please come na??..please.."

"Geet,baby how many times you'll make me repeat the same thing

over and over???

I told you.. I've chances to get a higher post and I'm working hard for it...

Once I get it,phir hamare paas sab kuch hoga Geet...sab kuch!!"

She turned away from him to hide her disappointment..she wasn't

interested in this 'sab kuch' of his...She was happy with what she

had..a good home..a comfortable life...all she wanted was more

time with him,which he obviously didn't have...

She was feeling very lonely...

Dev had gone for work.

She didn't feel like going out alone,so decided to make most of the

Sun,which of course was a very rare commodity there...

Born and brought up in Punjab,not being able to see her 'Suraj'

daily was itself pretty depressing for her.

She quickly did the laundry and came out to the balcony to hang

the clothes.

She closed her eyes enjoying the sunshine with the light

breeze...

Her thoughts drifted to Maan.

They had become good friends in a short time.

Although,he lived in the neighborhood, she never got to see his home.

He said that he was doing field work most of the time and was never home.

But they met up daily at the coffee shop..She would give him a

detailed update of her day-to-day activities..he would listen with

interest without interrupting...

He also helped her with her shopping and left for work only after

making sure that she had got on the right tram.

The thought, of the cute relationship they shared, brought a smile on her face..

"Hey Geet, Look down!!"

She jolted out of her thoughts!!

"Maan??? What are you doing here???"

"I live here..silly!!"

The balcony of his apartment was facing her's, but it was one floor below..

"Maan you live in the same complex??"

"Yes"

"Oh God..isn't this wonderful????.. come up na..come to my

apartment..We'll have breakfast together!!"

"Well,that sounds good!! Is Dev in there??"

"No,he has gone for work!"

"Oh,that is a shame. I was eager to meet him..then maybe I'll come
another time..."

"That's ok! You come na..I've made aloo parathas.."

"Oh girl..now Do I have a choice?? I'll take a shower and come."

"Ok see you"

"Hi Geet..you look very pretty today!"

"Thanks..wait a sec,only today??"

"haan, come...let's eat.. I'm starving!!"

"Geet,it is a beautiful day,today and I'm totally free..Do you mind a

trip to Centrum???...I'll buy you ice-creams,candy floss and..."

"Bas bas...aur bribes ki zaroorat nahi hai!! I'm coming.."

"Toh chaliye Ma'am"..He bowed with exaggerated gestures

making her laugh..

"Goede morgen ! Hoe kan ik u helpen??"

"Geet.."

"What??"

"The lady wished you 'Good Morning'...wish her back.."

"Oh sorry..I didn't understand"

"That's ok,let me talk to her"

"Goede morgen ook voor u! Ze is mijn vrouw..Kwam net uit India,

Zodat niet bekend is met het Nederlands!"

(Good morning to you too..This is my wife..she just came from India,so is not familiar with Dutch!)

"Oh geen probleem,ik begrijp het! Bel me als je hulp nodig hebt.."

(oh no problem,I understand..please call me if you need any help..)

The lady gave him a sweet smile and walked away..

"What did she say??"

"Kuch nahin madam..I told her that I'll help you out ,so come on

let's pick some clothes for you..I'm fed up seeing you in this

behenji stuff...for God's sake buy something sexy!!"

"Maaan..." She gritted her teeth..

"Ok Ok ..I don't know where that came from...anyways,buy

something that normal 18-year-olds wear!!"

"What does that mean??I'm abnormal???"

"God girl!! You are such a fighter cock!!! Bechaara Dev!!!"

"Kyaa??"

"Kuch Nahin meri Maa.."

Before she could scratch his eyes out in fury,he pushed her inside
the changing room with some clothes of his choice..

After so much coercion and finally threats from him,she came out...

She wore a light yellow summer dress that reached her mid thigh..

It nipped her slim waist and accentuated her bust line.

Maan gaped shamelessly, totally forgetting to breathe!!

"Maan, stop staring like that!! You are making me very conscious!!"

"Haan??? what??... Oh... ss..sorry!!"

He turned away from her and scratched his head in frustration!!

"Maan you are such a dumbass!! Yes that's exactly what you are!!

Ek seedhi- saadhi ladki ko Bipasha Basu bana diya!! Ab kya

karoge?? anyways stop letching at her,before she concludes that

you are a pervert!!"

"Maan,stop muttering and tell me what I must do now!!"

"Go change..we don't need all this..we'll pick up some shirts and

jeans for you!!"

"Kyun?? You only said I need to look sexy.."

"Did I?? I can't remember...now be a good girl and go change.."

He sighed in relief as she went back to the changing room..

"Bach gaya..Chala tha khud hi apne pairon par khulhadi

marne..dumbo!!"
